Idea Safezones

    part of the reason warz is currently dead/dying is because of the lack of new players. whenever a whitename/new player joins the server, they usually get killed by ranked players who just kill people for the fun of it without thinking about how it effects the new player, aka making them quit most of the time.

    my idea is to add a couple safe zones throughout the map (2 on each map). there would be 2 tiers.

    the essential part of the safe zones are that they're a nonpvp zone somewhere in the map. if you're new to the server, you would spawn in inside the tier 1 safe zone on either map (new map and old). in order to enter the safe zone if you end up leaving it, you would need to enter a certain radius of the zone and then type in a command such as /safe or something of the sort, which would give them a 5 second (time could be tweaked) tp timer which would teleport them into the safe zone. this would eliminate people from running into the safe zones while fighting to avoid death, same as how you are unable to combat log without getting a chance at being killed. if you want to leave the safe zone, to avoid being spawn camped you would be able to do ./leavesafe or something of the sort, which would teleport them into a random area within a certain radius of the safe zone.

    as for the tiers, my ideas are as such:

    tier 1: this safe zone would be in a noob town of some sort on both servers. it would be in a zone 2, and it would have chests all around the safe zone to grant newer players weapons and loot without having to worry about being killed anybody. this would also make it so they can't get OP loot right off the bat without dying. just the essentials needed to live a little longer than they normally would without any gear on them.

    tier 2: this safe zone would be outside/near a zone 6 on both servers. different from a zone 2, there would be no chests or way to loot inside the safe zone. this would just be a place to safely log out or gather your team for a fight. again, there wouldn't be any people escaping into this safe zone from a fight at say, snow, as you would need to type in the command which would basically be the same as logging.

    to avoid people easily tping their alts up into the safe zone at zone 6s where they'll be safe, teleporting would be disabled while in a safe zone's borders. only way to get in is to enter with the command, which could also risk your death.

    any numbers/times mentioned could be tweaked, along with the commands. this is just an idea to increase player retention on the server, making it easier for newer players.

    I would change the time to 10 seconds so it is the same as logging.

    ya listen to the dood whos been banned 150 times

    could implement a system similar to raid's spawn system. where u can choose to run out of spawn to the wild to get loot or u can /random (obv much lower cooldown than 12h) and spawn at some random position on the map and loot

    I'd really like to see this implemented. +1 for sure
    This system would be nice as well. I'd assume you'd only be able to spawn in zone 1-2's after using the command.

    +1 but I have a quick questions.
    1) what if people have alts right outside of the safezone
    And it should be made so people in combat can't enter the safezone/ can't teleport to the safezone

    people have alts outside of safe zone you'd still need to enter the safe zone with the command so it wouldn't really do anything

    I know but for example there's a fight or a fight ended in warz 1 at big snow. The safezone is at the warship, and The safety border starts at the edge of the militia (where the sea starts) a person has an alt at militia and tpas to it, logs the alt off, then goes to the safezone and teleport into it

    what would be the point in doing that though? you aren't able to teleport into it, so it would literally not benefit them in any way, and the only way he would be able to make it into the safe zone is if there's no enemies around him.

    Honestly, how about the safezone is a place you get tp'd to in a certain area of the map. You do the command, once you leave the safezone you are not protected but can loot. You are able to enter the safezone but you can still be attacked if you don't have the protection needed from a command. Also a cooldown on the command could possibly be implemented as well. This would allow you to not be able to spam it. Also make it so you can't drop things to other players in the safezone, we can make it an area with no chest. This would stop players from tping their alts there and storing stuff. You can keep your alt there, but you cannot store stuff nor give yourself stuff because you won't be able to drop items. Doesn't matter if you're in the zone, if you have no protection, them you can be killed. Then /random can pin point you to a certain part of the map, after you have left the safezone you no longer have the protection then you have to wait till you can /safe or /safezone.

    I like this idea. I was thinking that more builds could be added to areas in the old map, farther north than the common noobtown compounds. The older compounds could be converted to Safezones. With new builds being added, it would be beneficial to map design, allowing more looting in areas that could be described as dead area. The old map is bad for this, as the new map has loads more areas to loot in.

    It's not for already experienced players, it's more of an idea to attract newer players and give them a chance to be able to play and not get killed as soon as they see someone who knows how to play.

    I personally like this idea, but I don’t think logging within the safe zone is fair especially for just putting an alt there bc part of having a loot alt is deciding how much your going to gamble on being close to z6
