Resignation End of an era

Sup zombies!


Let me start off by saying that I am not an extremely outspoken person, especially on Brawl. For those who have not heard my "yes" noises, I can't even talk most of the time on Teamspeak, so I use a soundboard that has stuff like 'yes' and 'negative'. That sounds quite minor in and of itself, but stuff like that adds up, and in the end, I feel like I just can't do my job as a warz mod in my current situation. After being a part of the warz staff team with such incredible people, I realized that I was set up to fall short on my current path. In short, I am resigning because I know that although I may be able to be of use now, I most definitely won't be able to do my job as a warz mod in the near future.


Hopefully this thread comes as a surprise to most of you. I've been doing my best to be active and ban cheaters and resolve appeals and reports and communicate with players. But my enjoyment has dropped about as sharply as the playercount on warz. F. I had 7 forum posts this month, if that says anything. Why do I dislike the game?

• Cheating has become the standard in warz. Xray is commonplace, and it's nearly impossible to correctly ban for it. The first to xray carelessly were the younger players who had nothing better to do, then others realized "hey, if you can't beat em, join em." And of course it's not just xray. Some continue to alt and blatantly cheat to just feel good. I mean, you do you, because at this point those people are no more than annoyances.
• The premise and overall ambiance of warz sharply juxtaposes that of Minecraft, broadly speaking. The only servers gaining players are those who cater to younger audiences. If a 12-yr-old who just bought Minecraft logged onto warz, what would they find? Players who have the ability to /tpa anywhere on the map and can instantly end that person's fun experience. It would not benefit Brawl in the long run to try and bring back a server that will be populated with new players that stick around for less than a day. I understand that WarZ 2.0 will eliminate most of those concerns, however by the time developers complete the project, I will not be able to be an active and helpful mod, mostly because of the reasons below. I also understand that as a mod, I have the ability to make changes in the game that could possibly lead warz in the right direction toward becoming a more accepting server. While this is true, I truly don't feel like I am the person for that job. My communication skills are inadequate at times, and, like what has happened to countless other staff members, real life takes priority.

I know that most reasons for resigning such as school and sh*t are overused, but combine that with trying to get into universities as well as varsity xc/track, and I simply can't enjoy this. I am probably going to qualify for the National Merit scholarship, and I've been working to improve scores on tests (in the US we have SAT and ACT) that help me get into universities. AP classes take their toll, as expected. After this school year I have one year left in HS, and I want to maintain a spot on my school's varsity cross-country and track team (hit up my signature for some times ʏᴇᴇᴛ). Another small reason is that our girls team has won state titles 2 years in a row in Texas, and I really do not want any of them to catch up to me, speed-wise. I won't lie, a couple of them are getting close .

I'm pretty sure I joined MultiplayerServers in late 2012 or early 2013. It's been well over 5 years since my first Mc-War game. My first clan was SOUL, led by olliesyd, a.k.a. @MajoraJora. Since then a ton of stuff has happened, and it's kind of mind-blowing to think that I will be able to look back and think about just how long I played on a single Minecraft server. And considering the current social stigma surrounding Minecraft, I don't even know if I'll tell that many people about Brawl in the future. As an adult, I doubt I would ever say "oh yeah, I played on a Minecraft server for 5+ years". Anyway, lemme stop ranting about deep sh*t. I met a lot of people and here are some tags.


@MajoraJora - ok I don't know why but I can't tag you for some reason lol. Anyway, if you see this, just know that you were the first person I respected on War. I'm glad I was able to be a part of SOUL.

@buckingbronko - another OG from war that probably will never see this. Long live iCHC, brother. (LOL memories)

@meltingangel - if you see this, I really hope you continue to be an incredible person.

@etano - We spent way too much time on TS playing warz as whitenames back then. Thank you for taking me in.

@Exotic_Bread - I think you were the only non-prestige person in SOUL, only because ollie handpicked you. I was lucky to have met you, man.

@Rainys @_PublicEnemy_ - again, we spent way too much time on TS. @_PublicEnemy_'s rants about chickens were a little weird, but fun of course

@Sonicluke2000 - You were the first person that actually told me to apply for staff. I got denied that time lol, but I am still appreciative.

@TheBoyGenius510 - we grinded fpsHG together, along with @Call_The_Cops. It was a blast, I wish I could do it again.

@Phanta - personally I never talked much to you, but the mods for war that you made were incredible, I'm sad that you never ended up becoming a developer. I hope you're continuing to be awesome

@bman7842 - This man saw the release thread for SurvivalPvP before anyone was supposed to know about it. I'm pretty sure I'm the 4th non-staff player to ever join SPvP (aka Raid). To this day I remember @chickenputty and chap coming into our TS channel yelling "CUT THE ROPES, CUT THE ROPES"

@MafiaFerret - there was a period before the release of war 2.0 when you would come back to war for a bit and for some reason we would get hella philosophical and start talking about nihilism. Thank you for the good times, fellow crafter.

@Piky - hands down the kindest war player to date. Brawl is lucky to have had you around, and I wish you all the best, man.

@Sparc12, @King_Daan - I had a blast playing the McParty contest with you guys. I'm still jealous of the iPad, @King_Daan lol. (sidenote, I got 6th place in that contest and I'm still proud)

@Greedy_Bee - OG. It was me, you, and sargeant55 in TS for hours on end.

@Cappuccino - (Brian_Coffey) - I really enjoyed playing SPvP in ECHO. Gl fellow crafter.

@Yorei - I really wish I had talked more with you, because I never lost respect for you. You are one of the veterans; good luck fellow crafter.

@Spirals - Incredible person to be in TS and just talk with, and probably the funniest player I've met. gl crafter. It is not but a ruse after all

@tchuckraider - yet another war veteren who I'm glad has stuck around for this long, thank you for the fun times on TS

@JayOG - regarding what you said in your resignation.. I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I'm not able to do what you asked of me. Brawl was extremely lucky to have a player and mod like you, fellow zombie.

@NMHRODMAN1SBEST, @Havai, @Xion, @liqxh, @Risen_God, @Ritzy, @WarSkater, @Hacksack, @Iamforgettingametrictonofpeople like @Wario - I'm trying not to sound cringy, but y'all really were too nice to me, honestly lol. You basically took me in and I'm extremely grateful for that.
