    my answer no thx
    the 1.8 update made it more difficult to fight against assassins
    1.9 will be again a change of the pvp
    btw how do u want to make a shield in survival (singleplayer)
    does the shield uses a slot or not
    it will be a chaos :frowning:

    According to a tweet by one of the Mojang peeps, it is.

    Anyways, I don't see how CTF will have to be "re-made". Add shields to all classes (apart from Pyro, as it can't block now and giving it a shield will allow it to block), and the rest of the features practically do not change the game at all.

    It'd be a lot easier to just add shields for now - assassin isn't the next to rework and since I think 1.9 will be released over summer I doubt there'll be much time to rework soldier, pyro and chemist then assassin. Adding shields will be mandatory until assassin gets reworked.

    It really would be a pain to switch from 1.8 to play one of brawls servers, and then to 1.9 to play the others.

    CTF is still in beta so it would be a long time until it's moved onto 1.9

    How about this: new classes/maps could have some of the 1.9 changes. Like, if scout is going to be made, you could make it have 2 weapons at a time or an ability you can use while wielding a sword. I'm going to look up 1.9 and see the new mc. I shall not let CTF change that much!

    I personally wouldn't update ctf to 1.9. Even though the rest of brawl does go to 1.9 and ctf stays on 1.8, how would you lose members because of this? You can always have 2 mc files you can switch off from 1.9 to 1.8 to play ctf.

    That makes no sense. Why not just make Assassin a priority to rework instead of adding shields to all the classes and then taking light years to rework Assassin for the sake of keeping in line with current priorities? If blocking is going to be gone then I think reworking Assassin, a class whose only counter is blocking, should be a pretty big priority :stuck_out_tongue:

    Eh, I'm with the shields idea. It can't be hard to add one shield to each class at least as a temporary fix, and in my opinion, Assassin is in no immediate need for a rework.

    Right now would be the best time to update to 1.9 - if something bad happens, who cares, its in beta so they'll expect it to happen.

    I would rather make an Assassin rework priority, because giving a shield to every class would be dumb IMO.

    Heavy, sure.
    Soldier, maybe.. Not sure how I feel about that one.
    Archer, no. Archers dont use shields.
    Medic, maybe..
    Ninja, no.
    Assassin, no.
    Pyro, no.
    Engineer, I wouldent think so
    Chemist, no.
    Necro, no.
    Mage, no.
    Elf, no.
    Dwarf, sure.

    I think I got all the classes, but IMO a shield dosent really fit the feel of most classes..

    All classes apart from Pyro have the ability to block, which is everything the shield is going to give.
