Lag

Really the only time I get hit with lag on Brawl's side is when it's free day. Just about every time I lag, it's due to my internet. Yes, there are times when Brawl itself is laggy.

 

I never said I played 5 minutes a day. I was just giving an example of how little time was needed to notice lag.

Like I said, I'm not saying brawl has no lag issue. I'm sure the servers lag sometimes. I'm just saying that quite often people claim the lag is on the server's end when not everyone is lagging. ^^"

 

To 'kind of' reiterate @Xelia_ : Depending on your ISP, sudden instances of lag might be more of a you problem than a Brawl problem.

For example, my ISP is CenturyLink. CenturyLink sucks. The internet speed goes up and down (anywhere from 1.5 Mb/s to 0.45 Mb/s download) and sometimes it cuts out completely every other hour so I know that when I do lag it's not necessarily due to Brawl's baked potatoes.

 

If /lag gives me 45%, is it my fault or brawl's fault @Admiral_Munson?

If my enderpearl glitches back eight times before landing, is it my fault or brawl's fault?
If I see someone standing by the flag for two seconds but not stealing, is it their fault or brawl's fault?

I'm not a retard, I know how normal lag works. But if in tab it is a rarity to see anyone with five bars except brawlbot or we get messed up kill and death messages, then I assume it's not just my end experiencing a bit of packet loss here and there.

 

Why not take a break from playing ctf until they find and fix the issues you're talking about? I don't really see the purpose of playing it you can't enjoy it.

 

I do experience bad lag, but that's because I have to put up with crappy hotel WiFi.

 

I'm assuming you're not on a speed much slower than mine so I don't know why you are getting that much client lag. I get some lag now and then but it is usually nowhere near as bad as what you described.

Anyway I was just throwing my two cents into the discussion. You, for some reason, assumed I was calling you stupid (I guess?), stating you didn't know how lag works (which is funny because my comment wasn't directed at you at all), and ran with it just because I pointed out something you considered to be obvious.

@Admiral_Munson sorry, I only tagged you but my reply was not solely directed towards you.

@ReubenS if your solution for lag is to not play CTF, that kind of defeats the point of the game. That's like staying in spawn because capping is too much hassle, that's like not healing people because your ping sometimes is too bad for it - that's like killing yourself because life means work, following your logic.
