    This is probably the 10th version of this class concept I started in June 2015, its changed a lot and I had a lot of feedback along the way which has helped me a lot, so thanks to all that have given it...

    Class Idea -- Nightmare (Premium -- Undecided)



    Class Role:


    This class is mainly midfielder and recoverer.


    Starting Items:


    -Iron Sword (Renamed -- Night Sword)

    -x4/5 steak

    -Bone (renamed -- Night Attack)

    -Bow (renamed -- Tracker)

    -Lapis lazuli (renamed -- Dark Enhance)

    -(Slot 8) 1 arrow


    -Leather Helmet (black protection I)

    -Iron Chestplate (Protection II)

    -None

    -Leather Boots (black) (Feather Falling I)


    Explanations:


    Passive Abilities:


    -This class has night vision and speed I, Jump Boost I.


    Active Abilities:


    -Night Attack, when right clicked fires wither skulls that does the following: When enemy is hit directly he/she gets blindness I for 0.5 seconds and 2 hearts of true damage. The wither skulls go in a straight line and in the impact radius is 2x2x2, the affected enemy players will get blindness I for 0.5 seconds and 1.5 hearts of true damage. Range is 45 blocks. This weapon can be used 3 times consecutively before a 5 second reload (0.5 seconds in-between every consecutive shot). It will be shown in the xp bar, when one shot is fired 1/3 of the bar will deplete and so forth.
    Shard Effect (part of Night attack) If they get 20 direct hits the bone gets enchanted (visual only) and when left clicked it fires a single wither skull which does 5 hearts of pure damage and is knocked back 2 blocks. Each direct hit gives them 1 bone, when they reach 21 it goes back to 1 bone which is enchanted, once used it goes back to normal.


    -The Tracker is simple, by firing and hitting an enemy he/she will be marked for 5 seconds (spectral effect/glowing effect), then you will automatically go to slot 2 and when using Night Attack it won't fire in a straight line but it will follow the targeted player (like a heat seeking missile in the real world). Once shot, the arrow will be replaced by a glass pane. Once the 5 seconds are up the arrow will come back and the Night Attack will shoot in a straight line. The arrow does no damage or knockback. When the enemy is hit in their chat it will say twice "Warning! You have been locked on!" The wither skull will follow the targeted player until it hits a wall or if the skull is 10 seconds in the air it will disappear. (Doesn't work on Shard Effect).


    --Dark Enhance gives the Nightmare the power to slowdown the enemy (which is running / Flag stealer) but it decreases the damage output of the Nightmare, when right clicked all items in the inventory get enchanted and the player is taken to his/her 3rd slot (Night Attack) and instead of dealing 1.5 hearts of true damage with 0.5 seconds of blindness, only 1 heart is given but slowness I is dealt for 3 seconds every shot (caps at 5 seconds) and the player hit can't be healed by external sources (medic, cake, chemist, mage) and the sword does the same (Only the slowness part). This ability lasts 10 seconds and then has a cooldown of 16 seconds.


    Update Log

    Increased Night Attack damage of:
    - Direct hit: 1.5 --> 2 hearts of true damage.
    - In radius: 1 --> 1.5 hearts of true damage.
    - Shard Effect: 4 --> 5 hearts of true damage.
    - Dark Enhance: Added --> healing prevention from all sources except steak

    CTF does need new classes as there isn't a class that can kill a flag camper surrounded by 2 ninjas, tons of medics, engineer, maybe a dwarf, a few assassins and a bunch of other players, this class will be mostly useful when recovering off a flag camper who has a lot of support, which would make the class fit in with the game even more. New classes give more diversity, a new challenge, a new experience, but sure you might not want a new class, because its a change, a difference. But change is good without it we would be stuck in the stone age and or minecraft would have no updates, would you like that? No updates in anything, no new songs, no new technology, because an update is a change for the better and so is this class because its an update for the better.

    It doesn't hurt to give any more :grinning:

    This is why there is defense. It's your team's fault if they don't defend. We already have 13 classes (way more than needed) it would be too much to add more. Plus there was a lot of irrelevant stuff you said. CTF updates but it rarely needs to. Also with the camping situation, let them play cheap and have it affect them. If the map is bad because of camping, just tells mods.

    In most games how many times has there been a long tie where both sides are flag camping? Defence in key to CTF, like you said, but there are always good players that can bypass all the defences and get away. The fault of flag camping isn't all in the maps, sure some might have bad gameplay or allow easy places to flag camp, but some of the fault is on the players, its not on purpose that they do it its that they all get better at CTF over time as they keep on playing over and again they end up getting very good, some faster than others but they all get better. And I wasn't talking about CTF updates I was talking about minecraft updates in general... 13 classes isn't that much but I am just gonna have to accept your views as there are others that agree on that @Daniellll. There isn't much I can do to make you want a new class, so if please stop this ridiculous argument as I have had it in that past and it has been a pain.

    If you have nothing else to say other than constructive criticism/feedback then just accept my views on this topic as I have accepted yours :smile: .

    Daniellll give some feedback because I know your good at it!

    CTF has enough classes already
    I'm sorry but I have to agree with @Ducksfan101

    And all the classes have a role already. (Ninja defense, Soldier Offense, Archer support etc.) Adding another class would be more difficult to adjust to. CTF is fine how it is. I say we keep the classes we have and just go with it.

    i like this class, especially the way it is so unique from other classes. i especially like the use of feather falling and jump boost x)

    Yeah, it was designed like that so that mid-jump you would be able to have a better view of the players allowing you to shoot them with accuracy.

    This would be a cool class, but what role would it mainly be? Defense? Recovery? There's a couple things that I might change depending on the intended role.

    Its main role would be recovery as most of its abilities are used to attack/track/slowdown an enemy which would most likely be the flag carrier.

    Probably would need some ingame testing to resolve any issues/cooldowns, but overall I like the idea. =D

    These puns are nightmare fuel

    Serioisly though, it would be nice to have another recov class in ctf. You're idea is very detailed, it's a nice concept. I just don't like the wither skull because I feel it doesn't do enough damage for a recov class, considering steaks and medics. Other than that looks good to me.
