    A weekend with old ctf classes, would be fun in my opinion.

    Old classes, and no banner flag for a weekend. 100 % think this would be awesome.

    Soldier: unlimited climb
    Pyro: instakill
    Chemist: No XP Bar
    Engineer: instant Back/forth teleporting, and very limited building rules (AKA 40 kill streaks)
    dwarf: no cap
    probably some other insanely unbalanced stuff too XD

    This is almost certainly never going to happen, unfortunately. It's a lot more dev time than you'd think.

    Old CTF plugins were designed for McPvP's backend systems. In order for these plugins to work on Brawl's backend systems, we'd need to spend a lot of dev time to update (or completely recode) the plugins so they work on these backend systems. This dev time would certainly be better spent elsewhere.

    Hm, you're right. This would take way too much time for a one weekend event. With the raid reset and other various changes that need to be made, dev time is clearly more valuable in other areas. Still, I can dream c: thanks for your response.

    Too bad possibly the most buggy, non-balanced weekend ever couldn't happen D:

    Side Note: I forgot to mention ninjas being able to cap as easily as the other classes XD

    LOL, are you SURE? Archers with 128 arrows AND Punch II at a minimum 25-block headshot (or was it 20 blocks?) :angelic:
    Those were the days I went from a laggy connection heavy dying too often to have fun to switching to an archer main and killing more than I thought possible with lag such as that. Those who think archers are overpowered at all NOW are definitely not comparing it to archers back then, ha ha.

    It would be fun though, but perhaps as a CTF 4 or CTFMATCH game rather than a whole day or weekend over CTF 1, 2 & 3 - just in case most would prefer regular revised Brawl CTF play.

    LOL, oh yes, the multiple-pearl cap madness days...

    Pretty much every class was op back then. And not quite sure why you specifically mentioned archer. Oh, maybe it's because I didn't like your archer rework and you're a little upset. That's okay, it's an event, so it's not meant to be permanent. The reason why I said a weekend was the mass amount of coding that would need to be done. If it was just for 1 day, that would be impossible. As socool mentioned above a weekend's length might also be too short.

    Also do you actually laugh that much?

    LOL, maybe archer has become easier to use as people have gotten better at the game which makes it feel more op???

    I would be lying if I said this was a bad and boring idea. I really like this! However,

    -Like @SoCool21 said, the developing of this would take forever, and at the moment there are some more important stuff to develop.
    -The classes would be obesely annoying and unfair. I mean, at the time (before they got nerfed) they were fun to play, but we've become too naggy and strict about our classes that half the people would complain about them half the time ^^
    -with some stuff like archer headshot being like 10 blocks less and with an extra punch, and the unlimited soldier climbs, the chemist spam, it really would be kind of chaotic, because people would abuse these all weekend because they can, without actually playing the game (tbh I'm kinda guilty with this point lol).

    Sorry man, -1. Not because of the idea, I honestly love it, but it's like going back to the middle ages for two days. You would have to get used to all the 'savageness' of all the old classes ^^

    If it's only 2 days and you don't like it, surely you can just not play. I mean it's only 2 days, I'm pretty sure anyone should be able to go without the current Minecraft capture the flag for 2 days.

    I know. I would love to play this, but OTHER people will complain about the classes being too op. I just said I think it would be too hard to really develop for 'just' two days.

    I'm not sure how developing works within Minecraft and whether code can be transferred from other servers easily but @redslime was able to programme a gamemode that is virtually the old CTF.

    Yes I know spookymc technically owns it but there's virtually no point, I'm sure the owners of spookymc would be willing to give it up for some kind of payment.

    "Surely you can go 2 days without CTF" isn't an argument. You can go 2 days without eating food. If old school CTF would be bad for the majority of people, we should at the very least allow people to play regular CTF all the time and not force people to play old school CTF/not play CTF at all for 2 days.

    When we have 10 other gamemodes to deal with, and behind the scenes projects on top of that, we need to spend our dev time as wisely as possible. Coding old school CTF wouldn't exactly be hard for experienced devs, but it'd take time away from other projects that would be more beneficial.
