It is unbelievable that 4 and a half years have passed by since that day, 13th of June 2014, when I was handpicked as Creative Manager on the old Creative server. It would be inaccurate to not express how extremely proud I still am of this very moment, which is why I tell everyone about it. It took an enormous amount of trust to obtain that special rank, as you could not apply for it. You had to be mature, and of course be great at building.

Now this resignation will focus on my story. If you are a fairly new member, or if you even joined a year ago, you probably have absolutely no clue about who I am or what I have done for Brawl.

I joined Brawl in May 2013, and the only thing I did was playing that awesome game called MC-War. Competing with roughly 1,000 players spread out across 21 servers, every single day, made me stay. I found my way into a clan called MKF, lead by @daniellazer2902. We had so much fun. Gathering everyday on our home server #7 you would always find a fellow MKF member online. Everyone was so friendly and full of love. I will never forget the countless of laughs, and the good times I had with Daniel, Chicken, Cuuo, Romke, StitchHero, SuperMS, Pelle and the others.

I love building, so I joined the Creative server where I was almost immediately promoted by @MrOhs to the top rank of WEPro. I spent days constructing maps and numerous structures, some which were later used in the new WarZ map, the airport for instance. The best moments were when Putty and Chap came (which they often did) and explored my buildings.

In the spring of 2014 Brawl was planning on releasing a new Survival Games based gamemode, named FpsHG. Chap, our owner at the time, asked me if I could expand a map I had constructed named “Factory” (https://www.brawl.com/threads/30948/) so that it would be big enough for SG - and so I did. Prior to FpsHG’s official release my map was then used as testing grounds for the new SG gamemode. However due to new game features such as players spawning from the sky my map was no longer fit for the gamemode, and thus it was never used after that. I was also asked if I could contribute to the new WarZ map that was constructed during 2014.

I believe my contribution, as well as showcasing trust and maturity - always, in all ways - on the forums, in-game and on TeamSpeak, made me the most siutable player for a promotion when the Creative server was added to the lobby in the summer of 2014 and tons of new players joined. Andy and MrO simply couldn’t keep up with all the new rank applications that flooded in everyday. I was promoted, and to everyone’s surprise, because I really wasn’t a well known figure in the community. I came in a time when many staff members were “famous” in the community, and even without applying, because I had worked hard. That is something special, and still means a lot for me today.

As a Creative Manager I had a fancy [Admin] tag on Creative and I had access to all commands. During this time Moderators were server specific and not global. However, in August, this changed. The Global Moderator system was introduced, and surprisingly a bug made me global as well. I was now a Moderator across the entire of Brawl. Crazy! Later in the autumn this bug was recognized and I was put back as Creative specific only, because I really wasn’t supposed to be global. However I then messaged Putty and asked him if I could become global again, and he said yes!

Then time went by. McPvP merged with Brawl in May 2015 and the apparent more superior gamemode MinecraftBuild attracted more players than Creative (because everyone had access to World Edit). This resulted in the shutdown of the Creative server (was going to happen in the autumn of 2015 but was delayed an entire year). Since I disliked Build due to the fact that maps tended to suddenly disappear, and since Creative was shutting down, I quit building big projects on Brawl. MinecraftBuild just wasn’t a good, reliable and secure platform like Creative had been. I did do small projects, and stuff with the Build team, but too often my private projects disappeared, like that one time when I had built an airplane and then, just like that, it was gone. Now stopping to rant about Build, when Creative shutdown I became more active on MC-War again - both as a player and as a Moderator. MC-War really is a state-of-the-art gamemode in Minecraft.

On the 7th of June 2016 I was (finally) promoted to Senior Moderator, little less than two years after my promotion to Creative Manager. My job was to handle Build, which I enjoyed even though I didn’t build much. I hosted building contests, as well as the very first plot based contest. However I didn’t have the greatest enthusiasm for Build, which I later expressed to the staff manager at the time, Cuddled, that if there was anyone better suited for the job, I would be happy to give up my position to this person. That person turned out to be Rhoske, so he took over in early 2017, and he did a great job.

For some time I had been lobbying for introducing other Senior Moderator managing roles, adding to the server roles introduced in the summer. After talks I then became Social Media Manager, Event Manager and Media Manager. Marketing was my thing. Even prior to becoming SMod I had been writing server announcements (like the Wild West release thread) as well as advertising pages for Brawl on Minecraft fan sites such as PlanetMinecraft and MinecraftForum. I did server ads, build ads (like the Wild West map) as well as I constantly updated Brawl’s official page and answered to comments. When I was promoted I also got access to Twitter. Around 80% (more or less) of the Tweets made since June 2016 have been made my me. I got likes up. Comments up. Retweets up. These statistics were also noticed by Roke which made me very happy. So I became Social Media Manager, now fully in charge of Twitter, Facebook and marketing.

Brawl was in need of a dedicated Event Manager. In September of 2016 I had launched the incredibly successful all new War Fun Sundays weekly event. Since the gamemodes numbers were dwindling we set a time at 8 PM UTC every Sunday which would be gaming time! Everyone would know this would be the time to get on Brawl and play some old fashioned classic MC-War. So thus we managed to gather around 70 players at times - just like the good ol’ days - and we always played the crazy fun maps such as Dhahran_Ctf and Favela_Ctf, where everyone would achieve nuke after nuke and have a really good time.

The fact that this event (https://www.brawl.com/threads/61341/) is still running today is just crazy. Huge thumbs up to the staff members who volunteer to keep this going every Sunday, you are awesome!

Anyways, I became Event Manager. From early 2017 I was now the head of event coordination and planning, for events across all servers. For example Wild West Takeover the Cartel, and MC-WarZ Takeover the Base. I also introduced an event calendar, and made sure that different events were not scheduled at the same time.

However it is during 2017 that I really start becoming more inactive. In Mars of 2017 I was elected onto the board of Student Council in my high school. My role was PR and Marketing, as well as of course planning events together with the other board members. Frankly, this made me busy, and it did not get better when I started my Senior and last year in high school after the summer. This time also marked my 3 year anniversary as staff. In the autumn I was busy with school and the Student Council. We organized and were responsible for the first year students inauguration day on the football field. That day I hold the mic and was Game Speaker for over 400 first years and teachers. We also planned the inauguration party together with another school, a party which attracted more than 700 people, and the que stretched several buildings. From autumn over Christmas we were responsible for the Seniors graduation hats (it’s a thing in Sweden), as well as we held a big lecture in January of 2018, celebrated the “Student Council’s Day”, celebrated the cinnamon bun’s day and handed out FREE cinnamon buns to all of our members.

I was really busy, so why did I stay on Brawl? Why did I stay as a staff member? While it’s easy to put pride on yourself I am still fully aware that I have hold onto senior managing positions while becoming more and more inactive. Frankly it was just really cool to be a staff member on Brawl, so I stayed. I was not completely inactive however. I still did Tweets and other stuff behind the scenes, but I did not actively moderate anymore. I haven’t actively played the servers since 2017, and that was probably the last time I handled bans or reports as well. I even forgot how to do SMod tasks like rolling back bases on Raid, or how to properly perform IP-checks. And I am completely fine with revealing all of this. This is part of my story. It has really come to the point when it certainly is time to resign. I rightly consider myself as a Veteran, even a Staff Veteran, for I have served for 4 and a half years. Only Putty, Roke, Yin and D3 have served longer than me (apparently Sig and Paul have left).

My story ends here and it has really been a hell of a ride.

Thank you @chickenputty for believing in me that day in June of 2014. Thank you for listening to all my crazy ideas and submissions throughout the years. And I have said this to you tons of times but you are the best Owner Brawl could ever had, so you can probably stand out to hear it once more. Your skill when it comes to planning, coordinating, and communicating, as well as your knowledge and dedication, will get you a long way in life and man you have a hell of a career in front of you.

To @AndyinaBEARsuit who I built a lot along with many years ago. The collaboration we did together on the MC-Murder spawn is a very happy memory.

To @MrOhs for supporting me and being a great building companion. That one day when we built a mansion for the Wild West map was insane (it was griefed later but it was still a great mansion).

To @daniellazer2902, @ChickenNinja and all the others in the best clan ever on MC-War: MKF. For all the fun memories on server #7 that I will never forget.

To @SoCool21 for being honest and always fighting for what you believe in and what you think is right.

To @PoixMine for being a great friend.

To @Doges for the good times.

To @patrickdemooij9 for all the times we built stuff together on Creative.

    To @D3RGPS31 for being awesome.

And to all the other awesome people that I have met and interacted with throughout the years. To all friends that are no longer playing Brawl. To all the good times that I will never forget.

Finally to Brawl as a whole. For creating happy memories for thousands of people throughout the years. To everyone who has helped upkeep Brawl: players, builders, moderators, coders, administrators. You have all gained more knowledge because of Brawl. Knowledge and skills within communication, planning, coordination and initiative-taking. And also social skills, despite that all of this is online. Because I know that I have learnt a lot. I have developed as a person. By helping Brawl you and I have an advantage in real life. For instance we know how to successfully coordinate teams, by using platforms such as Slack and Discord. We have practiced our ability to spawn ideas, to tackle and solve issues - by ourselves and in a team. We have learned how to plan events in detail so that nothing goes wrong.

You have invested time into Brawl, but Brawl has also invested in you.

I am taking my leave now. I will pop in occasionally but my story ends here, and I have one last thing to tell you all:

    -Thank you.

It's been an absolute pleasure being in the staff team beside you. You've stuck around for years and years and you've made immense contributions to Brawl, and it's very rare for staff members to stay committed for as long as you did. You've been a pretty big inspiration to me - always said the truth regardless of the consequences, and you just got stuff done without any fuss. Thanks for everything you've done.

I remember you helped me with my map when I didn’t receive an extra map. I never got to know you well but I hope whatever you pursue you accomplish. Good luck out there!

Worth getting an alert for? Na far too depressing ;(

Thanks, by the way, for doing something for me that no current higher staff member ever really seemed to want to do or ever did. Always liked seeing that M in the staff list too, seemed to have reminded me of some good times ;(

hmu if you ever feel like playing a game of HG :stuck_out_tongue:

I greatly enjoyed reading this, though it's a shame to see you go. This thread bears witness of your ability to create an engaging story, and I always appreciate good writing ability when I see it. It's a shame that our roles in the staff team did not overlap much. In retrospect, it would have been great to have worked with you more and gotten to know you better. I'd wish you good luck in life, but something about you tells me you won't need it. Best wishes nonetheless.

And there you have it, the power of branding. A couple of years ago @Audi_, a former SMod, told me how he saw this M at an airport in the UK - and he directly thought of me, and thinking that was cool because the M really belongs to an Airport Ground Handling company named Menzies Aviation (they have an updated logo now).

I have had the M since I joined the forums in 2013. Some people would probably think that it is way too crazy to keep the same profile picture for years and years. But doing that I actually created a brand for myself - everyone would know it's MrDasky if they saw the M, and yeah I agree with you: it also reminds people of the old times.

Thanks a ton Random. I know you are a real master at creating engaging stories as well, so means a lot coming from you. I wish you the best as well.

Thanks Charlie, good luck with everything.

Yaaaas more ratings! Thanks a ton for the kind words. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for helping out and approving events :grinning: Do you have an idea on who could be the next manager on that :frowning: I will miss you even though we have never really chatted maybe aside from the discord. May the Media and Event Manager be forever remembered.
Also rated JMod Honor for ya :^) (Until I get Mod maybe I could hop back and put that)

I think this is the best outro I've ever read on Brawl.

You did a perfect job capturing what it was like back during McWar's prime. Recently my hope in Brawl's future has been waning, but seeing things like this reminds me that we have some truly special people here. @daniellazer2902 said it too: you summed up how every player feels. I know that you and I have never communicated, but we and so many others have had similar McWar experiences, so reading this really takes me back. If there was a way to bring back the passion and energy of the first few years of McWar's lifetime, I would start up the grind again in a heartbeat.

I would say good luck, but from your outro alone, it's clear that you won't need it. Thanks for everything
