The playerbase can't get much smaller though. Any conventional ways of reviving HG (completely revamping it for example, like we're doing with War, WarZ, and did with Skywars, Raid and KitPvP) aren't possible at the moment, since we don't have the dev time and we don't have the money.
We need to go with more controversial methods for the time being if we want HG to be anything more than dead weight on the network. With H1Z1 being released eventually, the servers that are used for HG could easily be used for H1Z1. HG is setting back Brawl, and unless it can be revived easily, it'll need to be removed. At least until we do have the dev time and the money to revive it.
Trust me, I understand that some people might not like the update and personally, that's not something I like. That being said, I need to think of Brawl as a whole when I support updates such as the ones Rhoske is pushing for; although it'll annoy current regulars (which, by the way, is now just one person), we need to try something and its in Brawl's interest to do whatever we're able to to try to revive HG.
And hey, if these methods don't work, there's no huge repercussions. Maybe we'll lose the last few regulars but we've already lost thousands of them. It'll be risky but we have no other option, other than leaving Brawl on the network as dead weight. The revamp will come one day, I just don't know when.
That's when the real fun starts, and we'll have a more risk-free and less controversial update to HG, which I hope will make it break 100 players again. A good start.
