    Hello aspiring Archers that want to become better, I am here to give you 2 tips for the Robin Hood of the CTF world.

    1) This is one that @pookeythekid fell victim to, and is a pretty darn useful skill to master, and I recommend learning it very soon. It is...... Drum Rolls... Quick Drawing! It's pretty basic, but it's very powerful, as about 40% of my kills, when they're not from lucky shots, skilled shots, or any other cool thing, they're from quick drawing. Basically, you don't charge your bow all the way, instead charge a recommended 25% to 75% of the way, as less than 25% will deal very low damage and is pretty much useless if you don't want to launch a heavy snowball, and more than 75% is basically fully charged. This is used if you don't have the time to charge it all the way, or you need to make a rounder arch, for reasons of having to arch over buildings to just a better aim and better comfort.

    2) If a enemy gets in melee range of you, for the sake of your life and the enemy's sanity, don't use a bow, instead use a sword, as it hits much more, dealing much more damage compared to a 1% charged arrow, which delas pretty much 0 damage.

    Now time for the revealing of the funnest thing to do on Blackout. The funnest thing to do on there, in my personal opinion is... Pressing the pressure plate in a sequence to make the lights at the top of the center building turn on and off in a wave-like appearance. Pretty cool, isn't it?

    You can also lag people out by spamming the pressure plate, so please don't do it. :stuck_out_tongue:

    Yeah, quickdrawing is a skill to work on for me, but I believe I've gotten dodging arrows down fairly well recently.

    I might have to use that light sequence. I haven't used it in a very long time. @pookeythekid don't worry about the quick drawing thing, the more you kill the quicker you get

    @GeothermalSucks I no spam pressure plate I press it in intervals of usually 1.5 seconds (anything above 0.5 is considered not spamming.

    @pookeythekid I have frequent success at dodging arrows and I seem to activate my lucky dodging charm whenever I do it on the hills enclosing Beaver Creek or at the Bottom of Beaver Creek or just Beaver Creek in general against people shooting from the roof of their team's flag building.

    @LordCh4os please remember that if you stop doing it for 15 days or more you get rusty and then it takes you about 2 days to get the grip on quick drawing again. Happened to me... twice.

    @Deplicasus rust can be shaken off very quickly from my experience, so I really don't take it too seriously. It took me a lot less than 2 days to get my grip back.

    Quick draw, yeah, pretty useful, but I like to shoot a melee range. They fly back. You shoot them again. Shoot, fly. Repeat.

    lol "What's an Archer?" is winning and people are casting their vote on yes-no and no-yes without having any clue what those mean (yes-no means yes and no, no-yes means no and yes).

    As long as you're absolutely sure that you'll kill them, maybe. But I agree with @Deplicasus (lol, and I was guilty of doing otherwise until I read this thread), melee is more effective. May as well go down with a fight than frantically bowspam.

    Well idk bout you guys, but I like to take my chances with knocking them back. I don't bowspam. Rather, I control my shots, shooting with a fully charged bow to do more damage. Much more effective and efficient, and if you ask me, it give you a better chance of surviving if it does actually come down to melee in the end.

    I do a combination of both bow and sword combat. It depends on what class I'm fighting. I'll use more bow against a chemist and heavy, and more sword against a medic.

    What's your main right now? Also, I noticed in your title: "CTF veteran since 2011". That was around the dawn of Bukkit, and many features of Minecraft were missing at that time... how exactly did CTF even work back then? xD

    It wasn't released until mid-2011, and it was very simple. Beta was just heavy, and its map was a flat land with two 24+ block high, 1x1 pillars with ladders on all sides. The flag was in a chest.
