How to cap with Mage: a definitive guide

Well, you encounter these "problems" each and every day. Why do you keep on playing?
Also, not sure if you remember, but you had the same problem with MCPVP. Failure and slowness to fix things. To be honest, Brawl is much more faster than MCPVP, no doubt in that. Instead of complaining, why not suggest ideas if you feel like these ideas can, well, "save" us (not sure what are they saving us from but eh)? I remember you answering the question why do you play on Brawl with this: "It's the only server I can play CTF on, dumbass." Understandable, why don't you try to fix the things instead of yelling on in-game and on forums? If you have an idea, share it. If people don't like it, they will tell it to you. Some people can be really descriptive why do they not like your idea, so just try.

I hope this ends our argument. I don't want to get this thread locked, because it's a good guide. If you really want to keep on going, please PM me.

 

I already tried suggesting things back in McPvP and here:
Bowspam: Suggested bow cool down if x thing was hit y times in a sec. People didn't like
Spellspam: It's basically embedded into Mage
Noobday: Already tried to get rid of it. Got a gazillion noob supporters that now hate me Lel
Brawl failing: I can't do anything about it
And there's also other things in CTF that lets me play it and have fun in it's somewhat 'playable' stance right now. Have you watched too much of the assumption song, or what?

 

what do you suggest they do instead of damage spell spam? freeze them to death? maybe you could try to kill them with heal spell too, i bet that'd be effective

Because damage spell spam is pretty much the only thing mages do
Want to kill people? Spell spam
Want to annoy people? Spell spam
Want to get to the flag room? Spell spam

 

What the hell is mage supposed to do then? Mage's only attack is spells. Sure, lemme just go kill some people by fisting them to death. Seriously -.-

 

yes, because as we all know, mages are really effective at fisting people to death. Sometimes i even see them hitting people with the diamond hoe.......

 

Not at all. Mages also have orgy parties with their hoes. Believe me it doesn't take more than 5 hoes to make some pretty epic magic in the moonlight.

 

When I was an HG weenie long ago, playing CTF when all HG servers were full, I found out there was going to be a new class called Mage. So the first Freeday after its release I played this class, only to find out I couldn't handle it. The first kill I got with Mage was a Heavy that I beat up with my diamond hoe in a small room on Canyon which made me think Mage could deal a lot of damage upon hitting people.

I am also amused by the fact that MineBrick12 turned this thread into a complaint war. I met this player once on CTF, about a week ago now, when he was Pyro camping our spawn. I selected Assassin to kill him once and told him to stop. He then turned to complaining, saying he'd beat me anytime. I offered him a fair 1v1 which he refused. So I went capping as usual. I managed to escape two Pyros and a Ninja, just to end up getting chased by him with only 2 hearts left. When he finally recovered after I died of flag poison he understood he had beaten me and started bragging in global chat, telling me how bad I was. So seeing his complaints made me crack up. I can't take this guy serious any longer.

 

The delay is long enough between each click to not be considered a spam.

If you want to prove this point, then try mage yourself, and have 10 heavies, with medics, and ninjas running at you and all you have are just a couple spells or have a really good ninja come after you and you will see how hard mage actually is, and Inge, I love this guide thanks!

 

Sir_inge practically invented Mage capping, he has a lot of fanboys now lol. Mage capping is a thing now, I remember when if someone tried to cap with Mage everyone would look at them like they had tried to dwarf cap.
