Idea Bring the Old Maps Back to CTF

To put it in simple terms,
as CTF evolved, the maps became outdated and some classes were (I can't emphasize this enough) EXTREMELY over power on some maps, in comparison to others. Some maps had this combined with several game play issues, ultimately leading up to the removal of these said maps. The only chance of seeing these maps in rotation is through reworks.

 

I wish they would bring back the old maps. They were much better than the new ones

 

While MOST older maps did not stand the test of time (test of time being gameplay changes here), some I believe still can be enjoyable by the community. Before the transfer to Brawl, we had discussed the possibility of re-releasing some classic maps as part of Wave X but we had never reached a final decision on if we should, nevertheless which maps should be added back. So as of right now the possibility of having old maps re-released is a definite maybe.

 

I totally agree, old maps should return! All those different versions are very uncreative and get really boring.

Something I hate about new maps is that you are on the other side of the map within seconds and that each flagroom has about 5 entrances! People are whining about "dwarf op", but you never hear them about "ninja op". At those open flagroom maps you aren't even encouraged to defend, because you know that within seconds a ninja regular is going to ghostcap!

There were no gameplay issues at old maps, mcpvp did better then ever in that time. Yes games lasted a little longer, but isn't fighting around for the flag way more fun, then waiting 5-10 minutes till a regular ghostcapped 3 times? To get back at "dwarf op" and melee defensive posibilities at flagrooms, keep in mind that we have two new classes since those maps were played; mage and elf, which can both do an excellent job in clearing flagrooms.

 

So it's certainly perhaps a possible possibility? That's some interesting word choice you've got going there Bob.
