Idea Match Spectating

I agree with the only giving spec to youtubers/streamers/trusted members.

 

I would like to see this becoming a thing on the match server. It would be fun to be able to jump into a match and watch from a 3rd person's view. I don't think it is necessary to only allow youtubers, streamer, etc. because it can be fun for a new player to watch players work as a team and see how the classes function during matches. Maybe the admins and add a command where after the teams are set before the match, all players that join after the admin "unlocks" the server are put in spectator mode. It's an idea but could be difficult to add.

 

So if you think the comments are TL and DR

The only problem with this is: giving information to your teammates.
Personally I don't think it's too much of a problem, like Sir_inge said ninjas can go invisible and get the information themselves and there's also compasses. But I guess it's a problem when some people tell if a pyro or an assassin is coming.

Maybe it shouldn't be allowed in official matches, but casual playing why the heck not.

And the ranks thing, I think it should be for everyone. Because you could catch hackers easier, more importantly it won't make other people feel left out.

 

Id say also allow people to spectate from a players POV

 

We really want this spectator mode available to any1 at anytime for ctf matches, I'm creating a team trailer and it would be a lot easier if I could spectate. I find it dumb to not allow people to spectate games. It doesn't intefere with the people. It doesn't bother them since we would be invisable. Please give anyone the power to spectate games. And if you guys think it's a "really bad idea to give people the power to spectate games" give me 3 reasons why brawl shouldn't allow people to...

with all this spectating power, it would make recording for trailer 200 times easier... so why not

 

Are mods even allowed to give gamemode to people? I thought only admins or S-Mods could. And, this could be abused, however, I never ran into a problem with it during my time at MCPVP (and I've been on the team scene for over a year and a half now). I believe spectating privileges should be able to be given out to streamers / recorders / trusted members with the consent of the mods and both teams in the match. This allows for more community engagement, seeing as we wouldn't have to rely on someone risking their ping by recording or streaming the match, and we would be able to see more that one player's POV.

 

Skype will be a way to cheat, but how if the spectator is in a Call with the ref and all the other specs? Cause when u play the game u dont really check ur skype.
