    Some numbers would obviously have to be tweaked, but the concepts presented in this are great.

    ._. Or we could just Nerf soldier, pyro and chemist, give necro a buff, dwarf a capped sword, and reduce the damage from turrets.

    Nice ideas, tho ^^

    tl;dr most of the comments but I did read a lot of the rework. Personally I don't get why so many people want a rework, I don't have problems with classes often- there's always a class to counter it. (Heavy can flag protect from a chemist, ninja, assassin, and other payed classes. Medic is great for capping when there's a pyro or dwarf, also good for defense against offensive pyros and making sure people on defense are healed. Soldier is great for quick capping and getting away from pyros, assassins, and ninjas if you know what you're doing. Then theres archer.... Which is just annoying...)
    The only things I'd complain about CTF is bow spam, but that can't be prevented and maybe dwarf not getting such good buffs so quickly- it's annoying as hell to be knocked back a ton by them while trying to get close to the flag.

    I mean if the system was reworked I can live with it, I just don't like re-learning a game I already know especially when I'm not complaining too much about it. There's small things here and there that can be tweaked but in general I am not down for a complete remodel of a game that isn't having major problems at the moment. (Probably a unpopular opinion but it's been my stance on reworking things)

    All true - although that's making quite a few situational assumptions. Don't get me wrong this thread is not to bash CTF as a game that is not or cannot be fun but it is one meant to improve current problems with the game-play to make it better.

    That's the issue. If you read a lot of the rework then I hope you read the sections on why Assassin, Dwarf, Archer, and Pyro need reworks as well as the section as to why Instant kills must be removed from the game.

    If you did not read those sections I strongly suggest you do, as all of those sections are the exact reasons why this rework is necessary if not downright needed to improve CTF gameplay.

    Also, I'm not sure if you were touching on this but the loss of players is probably negligible at best considering that CTF is not going to go through a 'population boom' anytime soon in its player base.

    As a Dwarf main I actually did not know that. Still, it can eventually get an instant kill sword which was the point all along :stuck_out_tongue:

    I disagree. That would what would occur if Dwarf were reworked the way I proposed and was then thrown back into current CTF. However, in my rework Dwarf doesn't need to be on defense 100% of the time since classes such as Chemist, Soldier, and Assassin have all received a nerf on their offensive power and mobility. Furthermore, since CTF's recent update Soldier and Elf have both seen their mobility nerfed so they are decidedly less of a capturing threat. As such, I think that if all these reworks were put in place a defense would not require a one man army to be effective.
