Yeah, but its a lot smaller now and the toxic part of the community are no-lifing kohi now so he probably won't have to worry about DDoSers or swatters
Nope, its sorta like raid but with fancy abilities and shiz, looks kinda fun

'Aight I'm late on this thread but whatever.

I'm not quite the pessimist about the merge like many I've seen. I am one of the old MCPVPers, though I can hardly validly use that title--I played CTF like a noob for about a year, got bored and left for a year and a half or so, then came back sometime after MCPVP was hit with major updates (relative to when I had played). Until May this year, I had never touched the community, so I don't quite have the attachment to "old times" that others do.

I do have my own opinions on Brawl-CTF, though, positive and negative. I'll just respond to the list because I'm too lazy to write things out right now.
    • Staff: I hardly knew of any staff in MCPVP due to my ignorance, but I do respect most of the CTF staff members, the chief reason being that they themselves are original CTF players who know the community and enjoy what they do, as opposed to some other Brawl mods that were taken from other games and assigned to CTF just because it's their job.
    • Updates: Erm... The most I've really cared about are when most of the particle effects were removed from elf (but they're back now, hooray!), and the recent ninja buff--I mean tweak. I was initially upset when the ninja sword was Sharpness 6, though I can agree with Sharpness 5; it's a good compromise that allows less skilled ninjas to deal some damage while the pro ninjas don't dominate as much as with Sharp 6.
    • No gameplay changes: Eh, I'm not much of one to care about this. I changed my own gameplay by attempting to spread my wings and adopt new classes to my skill set, only to end up back at my main class.
    • Banners: I must say that the hitbox (on the fencepost or whatnot; it's a change that Brawl affected, not MCPVP or Minecraft itself) gets annoying at times, though the only thing I really miss about wool is the fountain that spewed out of people's heads when they had the flag. That was entertaining.
Overall, I simply don't care about Brawl, neither positively nor negatively. I've stuck to CTF for quite a while, not going anywhere within MCPVP or within Brawl or even in other servers.

What could be done to improve Brawl-CTF: If you want to be better than MCPVP, you have to be different. That means updates--real updates, and a lot of them. Make impacting changes to the game, but listen to the community, i.e. have high-ranking people actually read the many suggestions that lie in these forums*, consider every argument and counterargument, every pro and con, then implement changes for the sake of testing before making them official; if they're good ideas, they won't have to be removed.

*I'm aware that every thread in the Server Ideas section is in fact read by staff, I'm just stating this to make certain that reading those threads is necessary before changing the game.

No, McPvP's version was really good its just it needed a lot of tweaks for it to be really good. Brawl needs to be similar to McPvP, but add all the things the community have wanted for over 4 years.

"Mcpvp was good, it just needed to be re-worked for it to be good"

This is now the dumbest thing I have seen on this topic.

    I really misworded that -.-

By that I mean McPvP's version was fine, as long as it had the tweaks that everyone wanted. Brawl doesn't need to make it completely different and any changes should stay true to the version on McPvP, but if they are going to change it, they should give it the changes people have wanted for years.

and thanks for your christmas spirit and calling me dumb on christmas!

Brawl would then be different from MCPVP by actually implementing those changes that the community has wanted, which for all that time had been perpetually put off.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing MCPVP of making zero changes, because I was hardly aware of what was going on other than what I saw through the eyes of a random archer killfarming noob. It's just that I've already seen more (minor) changes in Brawl than I've heard from other MCPVPers. If Brawl continues to make fixes and even more major changes without ruining the game entirely, they could actually be better than MCPVP.

I liked the MCPVP community but it was a giant mess at the end with all the resignations, and I'm hugely thankful to @Chap for buying CTF and allowing it to become one of Brawl's biggest gamemodes. I think a lot of people forget that.

In my experience as a casual CTFer I haven't seen any big changes that have made me love or hate Brawl, and the amount of updates hasn't really changed, so I guess the only word to describe the effects of the merge would be... fine. Everything's fine. Stop complaining.

You also forgot that they removed the pets from the game which I really loved to have them while you play but are confusing with the Necro class >_>
