Poll: Should CTF Get a Complete Rework?

I see your point that it's a major gamble with little payoff relative to keeping/tweaking current CTF, but I honestly think that by the time CTF is mostly a finished product, the classes will be so reworked that it might as well be an almost new gamemode. Whether CTF is overhauled or has a bunch of class reworks and tweaks for the rest of its life, my point in my first post still stands: the general concept of a PvP Capture the Flag will always resemble something like the CTF we have today. (That is, as long as there are different classes and not a game of uniform arms and armor.)

 

'Risky'. lol. What the heck are you on about. CTF had more players 2 years ago without taking that may 'risks'. Clearly, that worked out well.

Why is that even being considered an outcome? I mean, we are assuming that staff like you and Nom have more intelligence than Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead, which you absolutely do.

Reworking CTF is a lot like making a sequel to Back to the Future. Total failure is very hard to achieve.

If your definition of stable is 'not totally screwed' then yes, CTF very stable.

You are literally being the Hillary Clinton in this discussion. How the heck are you going to make progress without taking a risk and changing the status quo? By nerfing the entire game? That is the one thing that will not increase the size of the player base or get people buying premiums. Although I'm sure there will still be people who will be around to play in the all important team matches.

This is about tackling problems individually. A CTF Rework tackles one big problem instead of doing this ridiculous juggling act to make sure every class is 'fair' or whatever. With doing one rework after another off of the current game you are trying to bring some sense of order to a game that was originally designed to be totally unbalanced in almost every conceivable way. Therefore, reworking one class at a time doesn't work unless you totally rebuild them and as such a CTF Rework makes much more sense to me in its potential to make the game better on the whole.
