Can we have it so teammates almost instantly break webs? Whenever I trap a player in a web.. half the time it gets broken immediately by a teammate who's spamming left click

Agreed, the new webs are meant to be helpful but more often than not, they ruin what you're trying to do </3

It might possibly be a bug, but that's definitely something that should be fixed.

How about your own team can break it instantly when there are no opposition in the surrounding 5by5 area. But if there are, then it takes 2 seconds?

Make that 1 second and you're sorted.

It's not a bug, it's an intended feature that was added in a update awhile back.

I think having a quick .5 or 1 second universal break speed would be simpler and quicker for Nom to add to the game.

    Yes, I love this idea:stop:

I hate how my own team just removes the webs when it actually serves some purpose.

Good idea. Why not go even further? Get rid of the webs, replace them with something that isn't obstructive and silly (i.e. hitting an enemy with a snowball gives them a slowness effect for x seconds) and call it good?

It would be great if you throw a snowball at a teammate it will heal them.

Either have a visible object and vanilla minecraft mechanic that is easily comprehensible (I ran into web = I am slowed down) or have yet another potion effect bound to something that does not give potion effects in vanilla gameplay (I suddenly have slowness while fighting a medic. Where did that come from?). Imo the easy to understand way is a better way of solving this.

So we should have webs, which tend to cause havoc in gameplay (i.e. webbing team-mates is still a problem), instead of a simple potion/status effect on enemies because their stupidness is easier to understand?

Gee, with that kind of logic we might as well keep everything in the game that's "easy to understand" (including lousy mechanics) otherwise the deep, complex, intricacies of things like non-vanilla slowing effects might confuse everyone!

    Yes.

Honestly, with that kind of logic we can just give people that are encased by mage ice slowness 100 instead so they cannot move, because mage ice blocks the way for your teammates. The vanilla functions are fine, they don't have to be replaced with a potion effect counterpart. Webbing teammates is an annoyance but not a problem, you can instantly remove them by now. Webbing a spawn is a different thing, but that can be fixed with other means than removing webs.

What are you even talking about. I have a feeling you didn't read my post or misinterpreted it because I'm simply arguing that instead of opting for the worst, and the "easiest to understand" solution (medic webs) that a status effect be applied to enemies. For instance, suppose a medic hits an enemy with a snowball. That enemy receives a couple seconds of slowness as a result. The best thing about this fix is that it would get rid of the need for all of these band aid fixes to keep team-mates from getting constantly stuck in allied webs and would instead apply the slowness effect or whatever to enemies.

Sure, a snowball causing a slowness effect may not make the most "logical sense" but if you want a game like that then we should start by completely getting rid of Soldier wall jump because last I checked "blocking sword IRL != being able to fly".

You are missing the point of replacing webs with a potion effect. I can't even count the number of times I've tried to play defense and end up webbing my teammates by mistake when trying to stop enemies or whatever. It's not because I have bad aim but it is more due to the fact that anyone is liable to run into webs, especially in flag-rooms. That makes webbing team-mates, which can sometimes really screw up a defensive effort, a problem not an annoyance. It is a problem that should not even be happening in the first place. But you know what the really cool thing about replacing webs with a potion effect? A potion effect removes that problem from possibility! In fact, another benefit to replacing Medic webs with a potion effect is that it would solve the problem that @ReubenS is talking about, since there would not be any more webs that could accidentally be destroyed by team-mates.

So yeah, I honestly do not understand your problem with replacing Medic webs with a potion effect (of some sort) since the only argument that you've provided for keeping the webs is that they're "easier to understand".

@Admiral_Munson potions effects instead of webs would change more than you'd think

    1. you can adjust your aim with thrown webs.
    2. even with slowness 100 players can still move by jumping and being knocked around by players
    3. Webs would become very different because instead of having to web in front of players, you would just hit them with a snowball. It reduces the skill cap of webbing imo
    4. Defensive medic would be less effective (maybe a good thing, medic is a bit too strong)

So potion webs would be more of a nerf than something equal to replace webs with.

Perhaps maybe you can use block on the web instead of swinging at it?
