Hatred against Sheriffs.

Am I the only one that seems to never has encountered an Abusive sheriff? It seems I must just play at the right time...

 

Same for me... I have never found any of the sheriffs to be abusive. I personally think it is just players frustration speaking when they call abuse.

 

Okay here is a list of things I myself expect from a sheriff.

The rank is not what it really it. Stop trying to be the best or perfect sheriff by the books. If a sheriff arrested me and there wasn't a insane gun fight. I would prefer them to allow me to pay off my bounty out of my team bank. I also expect the sheriffs to understand that they have the power to halt a servers progress and they need to know when to stop being a sheriff and do something else. For example - Sheriff gets on server with 10 people. Wanna know how that goes? Yea... it isn't any fun.

Also when it comes up to handcuffs. Please don't charge up to someone on a horse and just cuff them... you should know they can't shoot your horse if you are within action range. The game won't shoot the gun but make them look North for some reason saying your horse is locked. So have a little respect and get off the horse, and chase the guy like a sheriff should. Stop handcuffing in combat... Remember you get FREE gear. So you dying is nothing compared to us.

When arresting someone, I have done this as a sheriff and it really means a lot to players, if they are new and inexperienced. You don't need to send them to prison. I know the handbook says to, but making a new player go to prison right when they started? Kinda messed up. Yes it introduces them to the crap part of the server, but not all players will stay if they get there too early. Unless they killed someone... then you send them off XD

Checking bases, I expect the sheriffs to stop competing with each other to get arrest (I know y'all do it... I did it too). Try to keep checking bases to a minimum. Don't go into a base and come back within 15 minutes. Let me tell you why this doesn't work out. Processing speeds are slow! Also another sheriff could have checked within the past 5 minutes... so please do not camp a base. Meaning you go in, then you LEAVE! Also try to communicate a little more with the players


Okay for the bandits

Their jobs are hard and boring enough. Please be respectful enough to talk to them before claiming Abuse. Note that sheriffs are people too and are bound to make mistakes. Unless you are a robot @Lord_Roke XD. Just ask them nicely to bail you out and most of the time they do. Sheriffs are normally pretty outstanding players to the community and deserve a little more respect.

 

Instead of asking sheriffs to go against the book, proposing these ideas as protocol changes would be better. We do our best to follow the handbook regardless of whether it is considered "messed up" or not.

 

I think the role isn't just a way to play but more a responsibility to keep the server from exploding into one teams advantage. BOTW and CROW were always fighting and now it is just CROW. Sheriffs are a balance and are supposed to slow our progress to allow other teams to catch up. Doing everything by the book though makes it either impossible or just cost to much effort to be worth it.

 

Well, I mean, if you want us to target the larger teams like CROW, I guess you could suggest that be added to the protocol too. .-. I'm not sure certain people would appreciate that though and think of this as bias.

 

You could maybe ignore smaller teams from time to time. giving them an extra 5 to 10 minutes will go a long way

 

Well we're talking about a kids game with a roleplay rank that not everyone can acheive. There'll always be that one guy and Sheriff's should acknowledge this as they apply.

Also, as @iMacro said, just ignore. It's stupid and immature to talk to a flamer. (/chatreport [name] [reason] He just wants attention, like a school bully; no attention: no bullying. If you haven't abused or anything, you're not even in trouble, so don't bother.

@SoCool21 pointed out another thing. There aren't made threads about "normal" players' hatred against "normal" players. No one cares. I don't like these kind of threads too much, because special ranks get hated like others (maybe not as much but still). A rank doesn't make you any more special than any other.

Summary for the lazy:

• It's a game for young players.
• Ignore if you get hated.
• I don't like these kinds of threads because others get hatred too but not many care.

I don't personally hate Sheriffs. In the end they are just doing their jobs, as I don't wanna go deep into this "Sheriffs abuse!" drama, I respect Sheriffs like they are a normal person with just some extra perks on top.

 

Same, but I only dislike the bad/abusive sheriffs. Im not saying any name because I dont want to be mean. And I dont want that other people get pissed off on that sheriff too because I am disappointed in him.

I am not sure why you are receiving so much hate. If they really have a problem with you about abuse they can just report you with proof. But seriously I don't think you deserve that much hate.

 

I get hate the moment I get on. I just repeat the same process I always do and sometimes I get called for abuse. Not like I care, but everytime someone just calls me out. I stay on longer :V.

Is it RMST1? I know you don't seem to be to bright with him. Pst, I understand why. Especially when I play on my alts.
