Capture The Flag: Best Player of CTF

Since there hasn't been a single post on how badly ****ed up this thread is, here goes.
There is no such thing as the best CTFer, CTF is a team game and only coordination gets you somewhere. Individual skill stands in second place.
Individual skill is strongly role-dependant. Someone can be really good at capturing flags, but may be a very bad archer. Someone can be a really good recovery player (bringing back own flags), but his caps count may be very low.

The main point of Capture The Flag is to capture flags, not to get kills. But even if you just take one of the other counts (if kills, captures, recoveries - whatever), you will always miss out on the other two thirds. And remember there are those really good medics who do a really good job in healing others, but neither have kills nor recoveries nor captures.

If you really wanted to organize a popularity contest, do it based on many more factors than you mentioned here. And even then, stats aren't the way to go. McPVP stats (CTF was on McPVP for a few years before being moved to Brawl) don't exist here. So the people with 8000 captures on McPVP might not even be in the leaderboards here, but can still be very, very good at the game.

Suggestion: as an Mc-war player, I've watched the entire server devolve into a huge popularity cluster. Because the major population of CTF hasn't experienced the decline of war, let me just make it clear what I'm saying.

Seriously. These popularity contests are what destroyed the respect between players, the good sportsmanship, everything good about a team game evaporated in a few months when these started being posted

I have huge respect for you guys here in CTF land, so please tread carefully.

 

I would like to nominate @lightdragon65 for being a very skilled player, keeping his cool upon death, and all around being a nice person and good friend. In terms of best CTF players, you can't go past this guy. c:
