It's actually laughably easy to bypass elfs reflecting shield as chemist. Don't toss the pot directly at them. Toss it at the base of the shield and it will hurt them anyway. Also the shield should not allow health pots to be reflected. I can abuse an elf shield to get a full heal by bouncing health pots off the shield. Tbh the shield isn't as effective as everyone totes it to be.

The shield is actually not the worst against archers; even the most experienced archers can sometimes be caught off guard if you time the shield right. But the only reason it's effective against any archers at all is because you can see the arrow coming. It's quite difficult to reliably reflect medic snowballs, and it's a game of pure chance when it comes to blocking ninja eggs when they come out of invisibility.

But anyway, point being it works well, but basically only against archers. (At the very least, it's more of a defensive mechanism, anyway.)

The shield would be much more useful if the reflected projectiles contained their properties. The only reflected projectiles that do keep their properties are archer's arrows, mage's ice spell, and chemist's potions.

The shield was a very useful tool in capping when it could reliably deflect pyro's arrows (Setting their entire defense on fire) and using a mage's lightning spell to fling the defense away from you. It still is useful, protecting you from bowspammers, ninja's enderpearls, wanna-be potspammers but it can be much better if it was fixed.

I feel that the arrows deflected from an engineer's turret should not return to the turret, but to the engineer itself. Deflecting an engineer's turret has no practical use other than trying to get near the turret or just walking by.

Pretty sure it's just a glitch that the projectiles don't retain their properties; it would very much surprise me if the early elf shield was actually considered broken. Still, your point stands as it is.

Couldn't agree more with the engineers.

Im pretty sure that the mage damgae spell with the shield is busted, 90% of the time with me it will simply trigger the firework effect on contact, or shoot straight into the ground

I never knew the shield could reflect potions. :open_mouth:

I agree a ninja can very easily kill you as elf, almost too easily, the best I've ever survived against one is 3 steaks down, not to mention the speed II ninja starts with combined with its sword can airlock you pretty fast. :/

I still like elf, just wish it got buffed a bit.
