Legacy Server

I like the idea of a throwback server (or day) cause nostalgia (remember when Necro had a Fire Aspect sword and poison potions???) but I agree with @November, old ctf had so many issues that making this a regular thing (i.e. a server) would be a bad idea. Some of the more egregious issues: The flagroom on Clocktower, two years back, for example was literally 3 blocks long, 3 blocks wide, and 2 blocks tall. It could only be accessed by two doors facing the flag and, like the flagroom on old Halo (in the video), it was a total nightmare to deal with since it was basically a near inescapable Dwarf kill-zone. I remember racking up a ton of huge Dwarf killstreaks on that map and while that was fun it also led to unbelievably long stalemates (no time limits in those days!). Also anyone remember when it was possible tp wall off the flagroom on blackout, or entire passageways on Airlock, with engineer turrets? Fun times.

I think it'd be great to do this as a one time thing, for a day or two, just for the sake of nostalgia. But making an entire server dedicated to this sounds like the biggest waste of time since the filming of Grown Ups 2.

Rethinking about it more clearly, I am more in par with Bino's Throwback idea. If we were to make an entirely different server it would split the community in half, one side going for old ctf and the other for the future of ctf.

What if CTF just had this one-time-a-month event where it was reverted to its former state in 2013, with all the maps that were available at the time? It would only last a day, be not as frequent as something like freeplay and can be enjoyed more because it appears in a less frequent amount of time.
