Idea Staff vs Community match and Making use of the Brawl YT

Yesterday I had an idea which I shared with @Canoodle on slack, but I thought to get some thoughts on the ideas I'd also post them here as well. I was having a conversation with numerous players from all over brawl, and she mentioned that she really wanted to get involved and bond with a group people, and it gave me an idea of an event to do exactly that on CTF. I was thinking something along the lines of a staff vs community match. The idea behind it being a whole load of mods, smods, admins who don't really tend to play CTF all that much and have them fight a team made up of members of the CTF community. I was thinking about organising it in a similar way to a player pool match, where we create a thread and people can sign up to participate. Not sure how much support we'll get for actually playing the match, and logistically since the staff might not be the best at the game, we could split into two teams with some staff and some community members. I was also thinking we could get the Match spotlight weekly to cover the match, so we could have recordings, interviews etc. Either way, let me know what you think about the idea itself, or the logistics behind it.

Moving onto the second idea, which is related to the first. For those who don't already know, brawl actually has a public youtube account, but it doesn't update that often and isn't that popular (my guess in part due to the youtube algorithms, but that's a topic nobody wants to hear about). We however have a gamemode which is already entertaining to watch, and have regular recording sessions. MSW already takes all the official matches that we have and post them online anyway, but I was thinking of maybe trying to get some of the official matches put up on the official brawl youtube channel as well. We could upload the better ones (more interesting, better commentation etc.) to that channel as well as MSW in the hope that we can attract more people to play the gamemode. With more regular updates to the brawl channel, hopefully we can attract more players to visit/stay in the gamemode, it would advertise teams and give brawl a boost to it's playerbase. Again, let me know what you think about the idea, potential problems, solutions. Anything helps!

Yeah I definitely agree that it would end in about 5 minutes, so we could potentially add either additional rules or have the staff go half and half with players (half staff half CTF regs?). Let me know what you think about how that works

 

Open to everyone, would be like a PPM match thread where you could sign up

 

Could be closer to a strictly come dancing style where we pair up 1 staff and 1 ctf regular, randomise the teams with couples on each side. That might be a fairer way to do it that's still fun
