    How to Configure Your CTF Map
    Good news, you can all do it. Here's how.

    Sign information:

    Spawn sign info:
    • Red spawn: {{spawn 1}}
    • Blue spawn: {{spawn 2}}
    Front of sign = front of player or front of banner; this is the direction players will face when entering a map or respawning.
    Use solid blocks under signs. Must have different block IDs for spawns. Refrain from placing spawn block IDs in any playable territory on your map.

    Flag sign info:
    • Red flag: {{flag 1}}
    • Blue flag: {{flag 2}}
    Front of sign = front of player or front of banner; this is the direction players will face when entering a map or respawning.

    Spawn box sign info:
    • {{spawn_box}}
    • {{caps=3}}
    • {{time=20}}
    Front of sign = front of player or front of banner; this is the direction players will face when entering a map or respawning.
    [IMG]

    Callout sign info:
    • Red callout: {{callout 1}} and the name of the callout on the second line
    • Blue callout: {{callout 2}} and the name of the callout on the second line
    • Neutral callout: {{callout}} and the name of the callout on the second line

    CTF Spawn Boxes:

    There's 2 ways you can put a spawn box on your map:

    The first and easiest one is through usage of the command "/assets". After executing this command, a GUI will pop up in which you can copy a spawnbox onto your clipboard. You can then paste the spawnbox at any location using the command "//paste".

    The second method is copying a spawn box from the CTF Spawn Boxes map. Information about this map is listed below.

    Map name:
    CTF Spawn Boxes
    ID: 350850

    Paste your spawn box at least 60 blocks above midfield to be out of ninja pearl/mage glitch range.
    • Players can pick whichever box they prefer, new or classic.
    • Boxes are customizable.
    • Easy copy paste signs are available if only signs need updating on your map. Updated May 2017.
    • Boxes are pre-configured for sign system maps.

    Other information:

    • Soldier climbing restriction: Coal Ore, Nether Quartz Ore
    • No fall damage upon landing: Double Soul Sand (1x2 at a minimum)
    • Removal of Restrictions: All restriction requirements for CTF maps have been removed.
    After you have finished & configured your map, you can submit it on the forums in this section. After submitting, a CTF staff member will check if the configuration is correct. When a reasonable amount of maps have been submitted (usually about 40 maps), they will go into a selection & testing phase.

    I hope sharing this info helps map releases occur at a faster pace.
    Never hesitate to step up and help with things, people notice the effort.

    Thanks for stopping by.

    I actually had that issue with a version of Minecraft I was using the other day. It was either my optifine or forge client that made me unable to write on signs. Version 1.8.9 seemed to fix the problem for me.

    What are the differences between the two signs with different areas?

    Also, whats the range of restriction for flags?

    The flag restriction is a 50x radius around it.
    Idk what you mean by two signs in different areas.

    I was trying to show the radius on the left and the area on the right. Just refer to the one on the right, it was meant to be two visualizations of the same concept. Sorry if I made it confusing D:

    What?

    I don't think the flag restriction distance is much more than ten blocks if it even exists anymore.
    These were maps when the last wave first released. I find it safer to over restrict flag rooms than under restrict.

    Ah... I thought the signs also did a 7x7x7 when I was building Waitomo.

    Click to view imgur album!

    It was nice to revisit Waitomo after so long, though :smile:

    I'm working on a map, and mid is an even number of blocks (i.e., there's no true neutral mid). I want a neutral callout at mid, but I want it to extend the same number of blocks in both directions. Will it cause any issues if I have the same name for two neutral callouts?
