Archer nerf+buff

    Heck no, keep instakill. Just maybe make it 40-50 blocks instead of 30.

    I get people hall marrying arrows from like 70 blocks away and somehow I still get killed #logic ._.

    @Darth__Invader increasing the range of the instakill increases the chance of the archers random shooting because they can only kill longer distance. It also heightens the chance they'll camp in order to achieve those long range shots. I've said before but that idea is, whilst popular, not effective in dealing with archer's problems

    @_PaniK they likely can see and hit you from 70 blocks, ctf has some really good archers.

    That's the problem. Archer is stuck in a situation in which you can't change it. It will only abuse every nerf or buff you give it. I've tried to come up with idea's, but I'm ruuning out :/ I don't see how to solve this without total uselessness or abusement of the class.

    Well, there's a double negative for you

    You increase the amount of blocks you can insta kill from: it increases your risk of being shot by a person 70 blocks away

    You decrease the amount of blocks you can insta kill from: you have all these bow spammers killing each other ._.

    It's very simple. There are 3 major problems people see with the archer class:
    - bowspam
    - too powerful long range
    - too powerful short range
    the last part I feel is the most important, given it's a lot bulkier than a lot of other classes, when it should be weak short range. The best way to combat bowspam is to remove what makes it good. That means removing punch 1. To balance that, you need a system of allowing the archer to get away whilst not bowspamming. This would also somewhat weaken it short range, which could also be further looked at. Long range, you could remove instakill, with the replacement of a bleed system where a headshot does 8 hearts true damage, with further true bleed damage. This would be enough to kill without steak, but using steak you could survive. This takes out the insta-death nature whilst still keeping archer strong long range.

    It's not the only way to solve the problem, but it's a way to do so.

    I agree with all of this. I actually would LOVE to see something that 98% of the community would hate to see and that is,

    1. A Reset
    2. 3 new kits ONLY: Knight, Heavy, Archer, and custom kits for donors (If you think this would be unbalance it out, this could possibly be changed)

    This could possibly help dramatically balance out the kit deal and this discussion on bow spamming could lead to a suggestion.

    (I am a old CTF player that loved playing CTF when you only had leather armor and a wood sword and a stone pickaxe and you had to try to defend your flag by either camping at it or by using the blocks you get from killing other people or by using the blocks around the map)
