Old McPvP CTF Statistics Page [1M+ Players]

Almost 3 years ago, on May 17th 2015, MCPVP closed its doors. It was the end of the golden era that latest for 5 years. With MCPVP shutting down, the CTF servers we loved and couldn't stop loving closed as well. I remember reading hclewk's farewell post on the forums, what a shock. I don't think anybody saw it coming. Rest in peace MCPVP 2010 - 2015.

But it went on. Brawl bought the majority of MCPVP's assets and continued to host CTF (which is quite frankly much less appreciated than it should be). One aspect of course were the old statistics. Brawl said they would restore them and continue just like before but that never happened. Later, we were promised a 'Hall of Fame', a site where old stats could be viewed. And yeah - that never happened either, which I can understand, though. Now, after not seeing the light of day for 2 years, I'm here bringing them back. Bringing back the memories. Bringing back the good times.

Now, let's talk about the site. I tried to keep the design the same so you're feeling familiar with everything. You will notice a few things have been added to improve your experience, but everything will still look similar. The site features:

• Statistics of 1,417,441 players
• 300 Top 100 Leaderboards (15 Class Types * 20 Statistic Types)
• A Hall of Fame

Some random statistics I collected:

• A total of 3,091,608 flags have been captured
• The total death count is 230,579,724
• The total kill count is 170,570,208
• Only 23% of all stolen flags have actually been captured
• Players were launched by sponges 190,117,018 times
• Necros spawned 21,566,211 mobs in total
• The highest kill streak is 408
• Only 3,467 people played Elf

Spoiler: stats for nerds

• The original JSON Lines file is 2,77gb big
• The file has 6589600 lines, 1 line representing a class with their individual stats (contains a lot of duplicates though)
• I wrote a PHP script to upload every single line to a database - which took ~80 minutes to finish
• Calculating the 300 (actually 315) leaderboards took ~3 hours
• Each leaderboard data is now saved in a json file, making up 16mb in total
• All php/js/css/html files combined make up 1909 lines.

Small note about player names: You can find your stats under your current minecraft name. Also, names that are displayed on the site are updated only every 3 days due to Mojang's limits.
