Idea New Tags

There used to be clans on MCPVP and a lot of the official teams had them, they also had chats for their clan in game, which was also something that was nice to have imo. The want to bring back clan tags and chats got brought up ages ago on a thread of what people wanted to see in the future, the post was agreed to 17 times, I definitely think people want this. +1

If only redslime was dev..........

 

I like this, but why not go all in and bring back the clans system? Comes with the same pros and gives even more opportunities of making revenue off it. This would also eliminate two of your cons: You don't need to keep track of disbanding teams & updating them as it would be automatic.
Now realistically speaking, your way is much easier and less time consuming, but keeping track and updating is a huge drawback. Bringing back everything all together would be the nicest option in the long run, but we don't have time & the dev capacities to implement that right now

 

I want my TBF tag Q-Q +1, a good opportunity to promote teams to newer players :
"where did you get that tag?"
"Oh I play for this team, you should check it out on the forums"
And a good chance for brawl to make a little extra cash, because who doesn't want more money

 

Yeah I totally forgot about team tags, I miss this! I definitely think it’s a good idea!!

 

I figured this would be a good place to put this, but I've been thinking over the idea of bringing back clans recently and making them relevant for monetization to appeal to the higher ups.

• Clans
  • CTF Team leaders will have access to clans before the rest of the community to get their team prefixes.
    Example - Annihilation = [Anni]
  • Clans will start out with 10 slots.
  • An additional 5 slots can be purchased for a small price by any member of the clan.
  • A clan can pay a small price to have the option to color their tag.
  • Clans will be handled through the website and will have overall stats for every member in the clan combined.

Thoughts on those ideas since they're relevant to this thread?

 

This consists of the same con mentioned above on the thread post: you have to constantly keep track of disbanding teams and update them, which can be a big hassle.

 

I mean with the low amount of teams we have right now it shouldn't be THAT hard just now, McPvP managed to do some clan system and as I've always said I'd love to see it come back.

 

Not constantly but only once if I understand correctly.

More ideas:

• Clans can create their own banner design for $x
• Clans can make their clan tag visible in the tab list next to a clanmember's name for $x
• Clans can unlock color codes in their clan chat for $x

Whether those features can only be unlocked with real money or not is debatable, but this system would for sure also bring in some options to finally make use of credits. Would also make whitelisting entire teams/clans for the match server at once possible, as suggested by @Krazydona here
