It's really hard to understand mass and all that kind of stuff :v

By the way, if this were to happen, what would that do to the gravitational pull of the Earth, would the Moon still orbit it? Also, how would it affect the other planets and Earth's orbit around the sun?

I do hope we are allowed to go off-topic in intros.

If the Earth were to turn into a 2 inch black hole, the moon will get destroyed by the gravitational pull, the sun and other planets will probably get destroyed if the black hole has enough gravity to pull all the objects around it. It's a possibly for those planets and the sun to get destroyed like that.
Don't worry about the off-topic :stuck_out_tongue: this my thread anyways ;3

But how would the gravitation pull of the Earth be anymore than prior to the transformation? If I am right, it is the mass of an object that determines it's gravitational pull, not the density. I mean Jupiter is a gas giant, it's not as dense as it could be, yet it still has a massive gravitational pull. Sorry if this is incorrect.

That's true, the bigger the object, the more gravity it would have.

Yes, so how would the black hole that was once Earth suck the moon in any more than previously? Jupiter is less dense than Earth and it still has a powerful gravitational force.

The black hole that was once Earth, it would still have the same gravity but the black hole has to get close enough for the gravity to really pull on the objects to it. Jupiter is very large, the bigger it is, the more gravity effects.

But there wouldn't be any way for the black hole to be close enough to the moon to pull it in, would there?

It depends on how close and how far it is, so basically it's a chance if the black hole can do that.

If the Earth was crushed into a black hole the size of a golf ball, where would that golf ball be? Right at the centre of the earth or would the different masses of the different materials change that and the golf ball would be somewhere else?

Edit- Sorry, I'm just infinitely curious.

It could be anywhere, If the Earth was crushed that small, it would turn into a black hole.

Anyway, what kind of event would cause the Earth to turn into a black hole?

    There could be 2 ways:
1: If the gravity just somehow changed to where that would happen, which I doubt this would happen.

2: If we humans build something to compress the Earth down like that... then that could happen. :v

OK, I think I'm all out of questions now
The second option seems infinitely more likely, considering the way we're destroying our planet.

I don't think I've talked to anyone as intelligent as you in a while. I still can't believe you have autism.

Even more off-topic: I have to go now. Bye. I feel like we've successfully buried this thread in fifty feet of astronomy.
