Problems With CTF

    Even though there may be no way to fix these, I'd like to address some problems I have been having while playing CTF.

    Ninja Has Some Bugs
    • Ninja has been noticeably nerfed. A long time ago you used to be able to go invisible whenever you wanted, right away, which was kind of op. Then they added silly powder, but you could still go invisible as soon as you got your redstone back, right away. Now, even after silly powder there is a delay long enough for a skilled ninja to get two hits in and kill you. What I mean is, with normal redstone, you still have to wait long enough to die in order to go invisible. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I think this should be patched or removed.
    • I've noticed that when I play ninja there is a slightly longer delay for hits to register than it is with other classes, this makes it slightly unfair because the whole point of ninja isn't to be seen, and this kind of defeats the purpose of it because it's to easy to be seen. I'm aware that someone (IDK who) posted something about ninja to be better in this way, but I'm not sure if it was put through. What I've been dying to know is if I'm the only one getting this problem. My ping is normally around 80 ms, so it can't be my ping.
    Needs More Moderation/Hack Detector
    Hackers are almost always on, and 70% of them are never caught and banned because there isn't an autoban or moderator online. Shout out to @Nohox for banning most of the people I find. Most of the reports using the /report command are ignored most likely because they don't have a location on them. Even after I started putting the location on my reports, mods weren't getting online. I wouldn't put the blame on anyone, especially not the staff, because they have other things to do and are trying their best. What I'm just saying is that they really need an autoban system, or more mods.

    Soldiers are starting to abuse their wall climbing ability. This is really overpowered because they're blocking pretty much all the time, preventing assassination attempts, and making Ninja's only be able to get a few hits in without dying a painful death as they are mauled by their defense. But seriously, how can you climb the floor? As bad as the physics are in Minecraft, this just crosses the line. @Ducksfan101 had a decent idea on how to prevent wallspam somewhere in this thread.
    Chemist is overpowered if you know where potions are and that it's possible to use your iron sword. The problem is, the ability to deal tons of damage with your sword and deal damage with your potions is overpowered. Not to mention potspam, which is a huge problem considering that ninjas are powerless against this. Again, in @Ducksfan101 's post he has a good idea to prevent potspam. Another idea is to give chemist a stone sword instead of an iron sword.
    Enforce Player Limit
    You can still join full servers = lag.

    Ninja - The game is in Beta, and yes, there are some bugs. Be patient and wait for them to be fixed. If there is a delay on your redstone, it is lag.

    Hack Detection - Adding knohax is a goal for CTF before it gets out of Beta. If you see a hacker, report it on Slack, with /report, or record it and post the video at www.brawl.com/reports

    Class Balances - Class balancing will come later on in CTF. Last I heard, the moderators planned to tweak soldier and pyro.

    Player Limits - That's Brawl's issue, I agree with you here. The more players, the more lag it seems.

    Pyro needs an outright nerf. Chemist needs top be what @Chactation said because that's perfect. Soldier doesn't need a tweak. It needs a 100% ought right nerfola of it's wall climbing ability.

    Just my opinion tho.

    @furtles I really think the player limit should be one of the first things to do. Watch the CTF servers be fine at 70 people and when one more person gets online, behold the wrath of brawl.

    @Sir_Inge yeah, I saw @Chactation 's post and I think he's 100% right. Not sure if you're a recovery guy like me, but this is a pretty big problem for people who are trying to recover. Most people say to go solider to kill the soldier, but he'll probably have a pet medic by the time you resort to soldier recovering. Heck, he'll probably have an army.

    70 people is too much IMO. 35 v 35? LOL. Cap games at 50. It's hard enough to cap on 20 v 20 without being a wall spamming soldier or an OP chemist. and agreed about the chemist rework.

    I agree with most of this but I would also like to suggest a buff section for Necro since it very badly needs one.

    Ok well my meme was removed because memes aren't allowed apparently despite the fact that I made a valid point >.>
    Nonetheless necro is a waste of money in its current form so a rework for it is completely necessary. As I've mentioned many times before some sort of necro control panel would be a nice rework. Have options that the necro can use to make mobs guard positions (target important players, guard or invade flags, or input coords/map positions) and get certain buffs (armor penetration, speed, strength, lots of health, armor, tools; maybe like a max of two buffs per mob). It would probably be a pain to code but it would make necro a unique and useful class. Also remove the pickaxe and give it a stone sword or something. No more campy spawner.
