Outro 6 years later

honestly I could've posted this at any time within the last year but this seems as good a time as any

There are several reasons for me quitting this place for good, and to be honest nothing would bring me back at this point (except maybe if all of the 2014 staff had a reunion or some sh*t but that's never gonna happen lmao). I'm moving out to college this Saturday so that's one reason, I don't have time to be giving a damn about some minecraft server I used to play anymore. It's crazy to think that I almost grew up with this server. I started this in 2012, back when I was in 7th grade, now I graduated high school and am moving on with my life. for the people that might ask, I'm majoring in music composition and performance at one of the top music schools in the world, and am extremely nervous to do so.

honestly I could rant all I want about this server and the mistakes it's made, but I've done that so many times already. I honestly don't know if any of the higher ups besides Roke care about this server anymore. I'm going to assume they do because I don't want to assume otherwise, but there just wasn't enough transparency between the community and the staff to where the server could prosper and hype people up. so I'm just going to dedicate this thread to my favorite people and memories from my time here.

Favorite Memories

• McWar. This was by far one of my favorite games I ever played with one of the best communities (when it was alive). I met so many incredible people on this server and so many great friends that I'm still friends with today. I created a clan BCEM that ended up becoming bigger than GSG (over 800 people joined iirc) until I promoted the wrong person to moderator and got kicked from my own clan (yes that was a glitch that didn't get fixed). I ended up creating another clan IR0N which gained almost as many players, until I quit for a long time (honestly don't remember what happened to that clan). I joined almost all of mafiaferret's clans which were known at the time to be the "best", FLUX, TRA, RoD (lmao), etc. The server was so fun and addicting that I was genuinely heartbroken when it died.
• McWarZ. I started playing this server competitively after I resigned from moderator. It was such a unique and fun gamemode (although more toxic admittedly) that I became addicted instantly. It was more complex than War and took a lot more skill to become good at it, but it soon became my favorite game of all time. Again, I met so many people that I'm still good friends with today, and honestly I don't think I'll ever forget it.
• Becoming staff. Back in 2013/2014 all I ever wanted to do was become a staff member for McWar. Ironically, I only got accepted when I applied for fpsHG. I was a moderator for around 2 months or so, before I ended up resigning because of an old developer named Myortvye (now known as Brittain). He constantly trash talked lower staff members, repeatedly acted like a moderator/SMOD when he was only supposed to be a developer, deleted negative ratings he received on the forums (when they were actually a thing, pretty sure they were removed because of him lmao), and was an overall nuisance. I didn't want him to be my boss in a sense, so I resigned. I was honestly so sad and angry because all I ever wanted to do was be a part of the staff team and when I realized how poorly they got treated I wanted no part of it after that. That's part of the reason I've been refusing to go for it since then. It's not what people make it out to be, and honestly is a job with no pay. I have a high respect for people that have managed to stick with it for so long, but honestly all it's ever took to become staff is to have a decent reputation and a fake personality.

People Worth Mentioning

@Lord_Roke: Out of everybody on this server I honestly respect you the most. Although you've warned me (quite a bit actually) in the past, it's honestly incredible that you've managed to stick with being staff on this server for 6 damn years. I watched you grow in the staff ranks, and although we were never really friends it's nice to see somebody from multiplayer servers that still cares.

@meltingangel: I've respected you for an extremely long time, and always knew you as the best War player. It was fun talking with you and @BrawlerAce in game, still remember playing PracticeZ with you and tdaddy.

@Gynamo: don't know how many times I've tagged you in one of these and honestly don't think you'll see it lmao, but we had some great times and I've always seen you as a good friend. You're one of the nicest people I've met on Brawl and miss the times us and "the doods" had on War.

@Carsonn: One of the nicest people I've met on Brawl, you've been here a longass time as well. Your soundboard has always made me laugh and it's been a lot of fun playing WarZ with you and the crew, hope to meet y'all in real life soon

@NMHRODMAN1SBEST: Really cool guy and one of the first teammates I had on WarZ. I remember my first "competitive" experience I had was walking up to nether solo to see you, ciberblock, nicole, bucking and Jingca all run up to me to kill me just to see Nicole scream in chat "WAIT SPARE HIM". I teamed with you guys for that day and maybe the week I honestly don't remember past that. It's always been fun talking with you in TeamSpeak and teaming with you on WarZ, let's just keep hoping for those Sinnoh remakes.

@Paul: still remember always trying to get into your damn WarZ team with poach and the rest, got so frustrated every time I was denied lmao. You've been here a longass time and still remember how great it was for Mario to get mod on Minecraft Party. You've done so much for this place since then, thank you. Hope y'alls pro fortnite league goes well (if you're a part of it that is, not certain)

@Piky: You were there when I got staff, and it's honestly nice to see you stop by from time to time. You've been a good friend since I stopped acting like the dumb kid from 2013, and you're by far the kindest person I've met here.

@Scoat2: you aren't gonna see this but hell yea tallscoat2

@JayOG: done so much for WarZ (although some of it might not necessarily have been the most fantastic of decisions >:V), and you're such a cool guy to talk to. again, hope y'alls fortnite pro league goes well

@Spirals: by far funniest guy I've ever talked with lmao. was always fun playing WarZ with him/you (don't know if he even have access to the forums account anymore lol)
