    Chapter 1
    [P.O.V. Lordchaos]
    In the boardroom
It was dark on the night the flag was stolen from us. So dark, in fact, that one could've assumed it was a complete
blackout. How befitting for the map it was stolen in, though. Blackout's flag room was always very open, but no one expected the ninja to come out from nowhere. He was there and gone in a flash; a pearl steal. That was the reason we were all called in. "The best of the best" was what the director had asked for, and we were ready to deliver on that statement. That was the reason 11 of us were sitting in a 10 by 10 room around an oval table. There wasn't much to look at. The walls were all a dull grey, with the exception of one wall having a monitor on it. There were no windows so thankfully we couldn't tell how late in the night it was. Looking around, I saw many familiar faces. Sitting next to me was ducksfan. He was an eager fellow, and although he was pretty young, he made a great co-captain. He was inspecting his sword for any nicks and rust, but looked up when he noticed me glance over.
"Pretty cool of the director to hand pick us for this job! I can't wait to show those thieves just who they're messing
with." He said with a smile. I sighed in annoyance.
"You don't even know who you're messing with yet. For all you know they could be spies from our team. How about
you think before you speak next time?" Ducksfan laughed and clapped his hand on my shoulder.
"Wow. Always the optimist aren't you, Chaos? so great to know you really appreciate my company." I started to
retort something back, but ducksfan shushed me and pointed forward to where the director was just entering the room. All of us snapped to attention as Bawss walked through the room to stand next to the monitor. He looked around and smiled before turning to the screen, which was coming to life. Security footage was being displayed from the scene of the crime. Bawss cleared his throat and began.
"This is footage taken from the flag room over at blackout just mere minutes before the incident. We don't know
their motives yet, but we've been able to identify who they are." He turned around at this point and looked at each one of us in turn.
"This ninja belonged to a highly skilled group of CTFers known simply as CAP. Our sources portray them as very
capable and deadly. Your mission, why I've brought all of you here today, is to infiltrate their base and recover what was lost to us. Any questions?" I stood up and addressed the director.
"What's our plan of action for when we get to their base?" The director looked at me with a hard gaze, cutting
    straight through to my soul."
"Your mission is to recover the flag. Whichever method you use to do so is entirely up to you. I'm giving each and
every one of you free reign on this mission, although you will be reporting to LordChaos." I turned and scanned my teammates. Besides ducksfan, who had gone back to inspecting his weapon, Birdgirl, who was our team medic, was busy sorting medicines and web nets into stacks that were easy to carry. Her expression showed more concern than enthusiasm for this fight. Fair enough, she had always been more into defense than offense.
On the other hand, Nuke, our pyro, was impatiently tapping his foot. He wanted this fight more than anyone. When
he was in the heat of battle, he went into a frenzy that could not be stopped. Each person had a grave look upon their face. This wasn't going to be some easy in-and-out recovery. There'd be casualties. Suddenly, the door slammed open and Latias stumbled in. He was hurt pretty badly and was struggling for breath. Everyone in the room was on their feet in seconds. Birdgirl ran over with some medical supplies and started to create a diagnosis.
"What happened Latias?" I demanded. Latias shrugged off Birdgirl and made his way slowly towards me. He had a
wild look in his eyes and his normally cocky attitude was gone, to be replaced with an almost panicked expression.
"I was there when the flag was stolen, Chaos. We have ourselves one hell of a situation." He was very close now. Too
close, in my opinion. I shook him strongly and backed away.
"Get a hold of yourself man! You're safe here, so tell us what we're in for." There was no time for madness in this
group; not with me as captain. Latias seemed to calm himself down. The wildness disappeared to be replaced with a grimness that made even me unnerved.
    "Chaos, they have a necro."
    [P.O.V. Latias]
    Earlier that night
It was too late at night for anything to really happen. That was why I was sitting around eating some cake. Of course,
I still had my trusty turret set up as a precaution, but I hadn't heard her go off for a couple hours now. People all around me were lounging in their positions. I couldn't blame them. After all, it was the last hour before the new shift would come in. I sure felt bad for those guys. If we thought the midnight patrol was bad I couldn't imagine what the dawn patrol must be like. Suddenly my turret sprang to life. One shot, two shots, three shots went by in rapid succession. Huh, that was new. I lazily looked up from my cake eating to see a figure out in the distance. They were far enough away that I was sure one of the archers would get him.
Turns out they either didn't see him or were too busy with something else to bother with it. Great. More work for
me... I stood up and took my place next to my turret as the figure slowly came into view. He wasn't very fast for an enemy. None the less, I took aim and fired a single shot right through the bloke's stomach. Easy pickings for me. 3 points. I began to sit back down when my turret started firing automatically again. Aw man. What could it be now? I peeked over and my mouth dropped open. That man was still coming! Wait, that wasn't a man... what was it? It was at that moment I knew. I'd heard stories of them, but didn't believe something so vile actually existed. It was a necro.
"Battle places everyone! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a-" I didn't have a chance to get the rest out because
an explosion rocked the platform I was on. I looked to my right and noticed, through my blurry vision, a massive amount of what appeared to be fireworks headed straight for my teammates. As each one of my comrades dropped I knew I needed to be there to support them. I turned to take my turret apart and had just enough time to step back before an arrow came flying past my head. An archer too? This is bad. My turret was still madly firing at the wave of zombies heading straight for me. A taller figure was amidst them laughing like a maniac. Panic started to set in, but I shook my head. There was no time to panic. I needed to get out of there before I took an arrow to the head or the undead got to me. I ducked behind a tree as another arrow nearly made its mark. I looked to my left and saw squadron 1 trying fiercely to fight off what looked to be a shadow. He moved in and out of their ranks, dropping each one with a single hit. The sound of zombies could be heard getting nearer to me now. I backed away and left my turret there to take them on. There were too many zombies. I couldn't hold them all off!
As I was running back to my teammates the alarm from the flag room went off and a figure ran past me. They
disappeared into the zombie army and vanished without a trace. My heart sank, but I went to give my team backup. We were badly outnumbered and in total 15 people were dead. another 30 were seriously injured. We didn't stand a chance. Then, just as soon as they were there, they were gone. I got the call for the mission a little after the incident occurred. Getting there was a struggle, but the director needed me, and I needed to be there.
    [P.O.V. Birdgirl]
    present time

The bandages would have to hold for now. It was all I could do to keep him from bleeding out, and by the looks of
it he'd already lost a lot of blood. He kept insisting he didn't need medical attention, but I knew all too well the signs of shock. Seeing a necro that close would have that kind of effect on anybody. Another reason I didn't like war. It was a terrible thing and I preferred never to deal with it. However, I couldn't leave my friends out there. They needed me and I needed them. I sighed and finished wrapping the bandages.
"You should be better now, but you need to rest for a little bit when you get back." I said sternly. There was no
messing around with these people. They never wanted to wait for their wounds to heal. So quick to get hurt... Latias smiled and hugged me lightly.
"Thanks a lot Birdgirl. I'll be sure to take it easy. You'll be joining us on this mission then?" I nodded my head,
putting my equipment back into my bag. "Sweet! Don't worry. We won't let anything happen to you." I snapped my head back up to him and he laughed lightly. I smiled a little, then scowled.
"Just make sure you guys don't get hurt and we'll be fine." His smiled slowly disappeared and he nodded back. I got
the rest of my items back into my bag and took my seat once more. Latias sat down next to our chemist, sporty, who reached into his potions bag and pulled out a health pot for him. Latias took it gratefully and drank it down. Instantly his wounds stopped bleeding. They'd heal quickly with both Sporty and my work. Bawss coughed slightly and all attention was back on him.
"Right. So a necro should prove difficult to beat. You all know your parts and you're the best in the business. I expect
nothing but a successful capture. Get some rest now. You'll be heading out at noon. It's a half day's journey to their base and I want you there under the cover of darkness. Lordchaos will have the details. For now this is goodbye. Dismissed." Bawss nodded to us before taking his leave. We all gathered up our belongings and followed him out. Lordchaos was the last one in the room and he started to leave when I walked over and placed my hand on his arm. he turned to me with a glare, then softened it when he noticed it was me.
"Are you sure you wanna go through with this Chaos? A lot of people will get hurt." He looked away for a moment
and I thought he was reconsidering. Suddenly he turned back to me with a determined look in his eye and I knew. When he spoke it was like the frustration of the entire team spoke with him and I stared in amazement.
"They've taken something from us that cannot be replaced by a replication. In doing so, they've raged war on us, and
I don't think any of us are going to go down without a fight. We're getting back what belongs to us." And with that, he stormed out the door.

Chapter 1 is done guys! Let me know what you all thought. I'll tag everyone who's a part of this story. I couldn't have done it without my characters, so thanks! ^-^

Great start! I especially like the foreshadowing ("they have a Necro") and most of the dialogue. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter

Side-note: You might want to consider posting the forthcoming chapters of this story in CTF Discussion as its far more likely this will receive more of the attention it deserves there than in Literature.

Great story! Keep it up! I really like how everything is on a bigger scale and how it takes like a day and a half to travel across, but id like to point out that necro seems to be pretty op in this story. Waves of zombies? I know this isn't completly following the normal ctf game but in normal ctf, necro is pretty useless being that its like a weak soldier with useless zombies that are slow and unfocused, but the chapter makes necro seem like a god when it says "they have a necro". But that's just something I wanted to point out and this is still overall a great story. I'd love to see more!

I thought so at first as well, but then I thought about it. If you were a new player, or in this case, a new recruit, and you saw a necro, wouldn't you be terrified as well? xD
