[Official] No Name Yet + The Blue Flaggers vs Delta Force
    Article by @Foodcourt

Delta Force versus the combined force of No Name Yet and The Blue Flaggers was staged to be an interesting match, and certainly proved to be just that. The match was predicted by many to be relatively close, but proved to be somewhat one-sided.

The match began on Blackout, Delta Force’s map choice. Immediately, the TBF/NNY offense came in with a strong offensive push, resulting in 915 (Elf) stealing and capturing the flag within the first three minutes of the map. The next few minutes were rather uneventful, as a handful of steals came through on the TBF/NNY side, but were shut down quickly by the high damage output of Recovs (Ninja) and a few great headshots by Winter. The match picked up pace when Hero (Soldier) got a steal and was able to make it to his side of the map before being headshot by Winter. However, this ultimately proved inconsequential, as Snowbreak (Medic) quickly picked up the flag and walked it in for TBF/NNY’s second capture of the map. A few minutes later, Hero (Soldier), combined with support from Snowbreak (Medic), made it to the middle of the map before being headshot yet again by Winter, this time recovered on by Link (Ninja). DF’s first notable steal came around the 10 minutes left on Blackout when Cptcliff (Elf) made it to the side of the map, but, due to a lack of support, went down to the combined damage of Luqk (Soldier), Spades (Soldier), and Slurp (Ninja). Link (Soldier) got a free steal with about 5 minutes remaining alongside Cyber (Medic) as support, but, after a wonderful headshot from Ace (Archer), went down. After a failed bar pass from DF, a TBF/NNY steal from Bizmur (Soldier) and a pass to 915 (Elf) resulted in their third capture of Blackout. The map concluded with a steal from Link (Soldier) for DF and a steal by 915 (Elf) for TBF/NNY. After a ninja recovery from GameBoyTre, Link was free to capture, making the score 3-1 in favor of TBF/NNY at the conclusion of the first map.

The second map, Divergent Strike, a popular pick among TBF in the past, was chosen as the map selection for TBF/NNY. Link (Soldier) got the first notable steal three minutes into the map, but went down to Slurp (Ninja) quickly after making it out of the flagroom. Soon after Link’s steal, Hero stole the flag on the other end, making it to the top sponge, and, after being supported by his teammates, made the first capture of the map, putting the score at 1-0 in TBF/NNY’s favor. Bizmur (Soldier) got another steal for the TBF/NNY side, making it quite far across the map, but the flag was eventually recovered due to the efforts of a combination of DF players. Hero (Soldier) promptly stole the flag and made it to the bottom of the map, but, after a noteworthy assassination from Rentokage, went down. Cyber (Soldier) capitalized on a free steal with about 4 minutes remaining and took a great route, quickly making it to DF’s side of the map. 915 (Elf) managed a steal a few seconds after, but went down after failing to run towards the Medic, giving DF a capture and evening the score at 1 capture apiece. However, 915 swiftly got another steal, and, after taking the top sponge, captured the flag for TBF/NNY with 1 minute left to play, which is where the map (and match) would end.

The match was, overall, far more one-sided than most players and commentators expected. Given the roster that Delta Force brought and the question marks surrounding TBF and NNY’s coordination, most predicted that Delta Force would handily take this match. However, after wonderful performances from players such as 915, Luqk, and Slurp the TBF/NNY combination was able to win the day.

    Aftermatch interview with @Jeaniee, @PV__nRT, @bizmur, @Spades_
By @hamzacx (and help from @PV__nRT)

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Congrats on the win! What were your predictions of the match's results beforehand?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1 Spades_: My prediction before the match, at first, was that we were not going to do well. TBF coming off the back of some tough losses, and NNY not having too much official experience didn't give me the most confidence I've ever had before a match. After we had a practice together, and got some coordination issues worked out mostly I figured we would at least hold our own. I thought we could at least go to map 3, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well we did.
c2ba6410-3c27-4638-ada4-63c651330dd2 PV__NkT: I think we were severely underestimated on all fronts, including by ourselves. NNY's only official matches we've lost, and scrimmages haven't gone great for us either, plus TBF has been losing recently. I'm really bad at estimating scores, but I thought we'd cap a few times but still end up losing. I was very surprised by how well we did, and I was especially surprised that DF didn't take us to map 3.
7b81edf3-3fb9-4896-a84f-a975fd6c644b bizmur: Frankly, NNY hasn't been thought of as a force to be reckoned with, and TBF hasn't been doing the best either. In addition to DF's newest additions, I feel like everyone thought that the odds were in DF's favor, with several TBF and NNY members themselves saying that we would lose rather quick.
6fbc92b8-0a49-4dc8-815b-29cb040a168c Jeaniee: My prediction was both teams bringing really solid defenses, with offenses being nothing special since DF's offensive players are new into the team, Link doesnt talk, and their communication might fail. About TBF+NNY off I was scared because bizmur and Ionic were not going to talk and we weren't sure if 915 and Snowbreak were going to talk. This was our first time working together so lack of communication was definitely something to worry about. Considering this and having ninja caps banned by DF I expected a match ended by the timer with around 1-2 caps per team made by 915, Ionic and Link. I expected a really close match where any of us could win but more likely than not DF due to their experience in contrast to NNY unexperience and coordination issues with TBF players.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: Were there any strategies you guys planned before the match, and if so, what were they? Is there any strength DF had that you were scared of? any particular people on DF's roster you figured out how to counter?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1: Since I was on def I'll talk about that, the main defensive strategy was making sure the medic was found and killed before it got to the flagroom. Focusing specific targets helped us pick off their offense before they got to the pyro. The main strength I was worried about was Recovs on DF's side. I was concerned he would make stealing/carrying extremely difficult. I think we figured out how to counter Link pretty well tbh. We knew going in that link was going to be the main capper, so the strategy was to focus everyone except him. Without support, it would be extremely difficult, and I think it worked perfectly.
7b81edf3-3fb9-4896-a84f-a975fd6c644b: Though we did have a practice beforehand, we were more focused on cleaning off rust and giving everyone their roles, though we did set up some people-specific strategies. This did give us some coordination for the match, thought obviously not the preferred level. We knew we had to watch out for quite a few players, and since we had planned for them, we were able to effectively control most of them.
c2ba6410-3c27-4638-ada4-63c651330dd2: Honestly, I'm not sure what offense did in the practice, but on defense we were kind of unorganized and just put people onto roles where they fit. It's kind of a miracle that doing so in practice ended up turning into a solid, well-coordinated defense that focused the correct targets; I think that is due to most people's good game sense. DF's offense used to be very strong, but with new players, and Pedro gone, they relied too much on Link, so I was only a little worried about the impact that would be made if we focused everyone else.
6fbc92b8-0a49-4dc8-815b-29cb040a168c: We didn't really plan anything special; as for our def everyone knew their role and what to do. PV had to keep them always buffed while Slurp & Luqk didn't let their off reach flagroom as a group and target elves/medics, so that Spexon could kill soldiers and heavies. As for our off Ionic was told to distract for 915. We didn't have any specific strategy planned. Some of us were scared about how elf would work against 2-3 DF ninjas but 915 still did very well.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: What are your personal thoughts on the joint NNY and TBF roster for this match? Were you able to use strong people and those you wanted use?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1: I thought our roster was very strong. The hard part for me was finding people to sub out. I think we got a fairly strong roster out of both teams.
c2ba6410-3c27-4638-ada4-63c651330dd2: The roster was very well-made; it isn't really too hard to get a good one when you have two teams to choose from. I think just a personal issue for me was having two assassin mains (or three if you count bizmur) on the roster, meaning that we couldn't all play our best if we played at the same time. This wasn't really a big deal for me since I was playing, but it certainly made it so Nikki couldn't play.
6fbc92b8-0a49-4dc8-815b-29cb040a168c: Our roster looked very strong, TBF brought pyro and archer so NNY didn't have anything to worry about in terms of key players. TBF also brought 915, a player who always produces a cap, giving us much security. From NNY almost all the players are at the same level so any of them are a good option but I gave preference to those who need more experience in competitive matches like Ionic_ or Luqk and they did well.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: Before the match, how did you prepare?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1: We organized roles in the discord, and had a joint practice together. We may have done some dancing in the practice love the cha cha slide but memes aside we went over the maps we thought we would play like divergent strike, and Blackout
7b81edf3-3fb9-4896-a84f-a975fd6c644b: We had a co-op practice between all the players who might to play. This significantly impacted our coordination and helped us make crucial choices on who should get to play, and what maps to play as well.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: Which DF member gave you the most trouble? What strength of theirs did you find was hard to counter?
    284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1: I would say Recovs/Link

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190:What strengths did you find in your own play? How did this help you?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1:Strengths in my own play would have to be talking to the other players. Letting ppl know who was coming and from where really helped us roam on defense.
c2ba6410-3c27-4638-ada4-63c651330dd2: I'm not the best medic or chemist, but I've been playing for a while. I think my experience really helped know when to switch to chemist or medic to heal and buff defense.
6fbc92b8-0a49-4dc8-815b-29cb040a168c: I think that first cap on blackout by 915 when the game started gave us confidence and play without pressure for the rest of the match, playing without pressure and nervous you can focus better in your objetives. He threw our moral to the sky.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: Afterwards, what are overall thoughts of the match? What are things you need work on?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1: I think our communication still needs some work, especially on offense, and after the match we were all pretty happy with the outcome
c2ba6410-3c27-4638-ada4-63c651330dd2: I think everyone can improve. It's very important (especially for the NNY players) to get better at and be more comfortable with roles that extend beyond their "main." All too often I felt as though we suddenly lost a good player and got a mediocre one because bizmur had to play medic or Hero had to play ninja. While they did fine, they could certainly use the practice on those more flexible roles.
6fbc92b8-0a49-4dc8-815b-29cb040a168c: We all were happy for having a fun match and breaking all the predictions that expected a 3-0 3-0 for DF. All the players from both teams did their work against DF. We have to solve some communication issues, try to increase the number of players talking in calls, and some NNY players need experience to know how to avoid headshots correctly and take the best routes after steal the flag, plus general misplay errors.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: Do you guys think this match is a success for NNY + TBF? Do you think the CTF community will see another co-op match with TBF and NNY together?
284a938a-7b2e-43c0-904f-53fcdee2ffa1: Yes, it was an absolute success. Personally, I'd love another co-op with NNy, so hopefully there will be more.
6fbc92b8-0a49-4dc8-815b-29cb040a168c: Of course it was a success, TBF fits very well with us because they have great key players (archer, pyro, medic off...) And we have the soldiers heavies and ninjas to fill the roster. Im sure there will be more coops NNY + TBF in the future, many of us are friends and work together has been a pleasure.

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190: Thanks for the interview and congrats on the win again.

Final Scores: 3-1 NNY 2-1 NNY + TBF
Overall: NNY + TBF Win! PotG @Slurp_

[Official] Water Taste vs The Blue Flaggers
    Written by @auromelt

This official match was guaranteed to be an exciting one. WT had obtained an unexpected victory against TT a few hours ago, and now they were facing against TBF, a team that had beaten them a number of times in the past.

The first map to kick off the match was Divergent Strike, TBF’s map pick. This map was a great defensive map, but it allowed for flag carriers, especially soldiers, to quickly get across the map. TBF’s defense consisted of a pyro, heavy, mage, assassin and ninja. WT’s defense was similar, except that there was a defensive medic instead of a mage, sacrificing damage for sustainability.

On the other hand, both teams are running three on offense, a chemist, a medic and a soldier, less tanky classes that might take more damage from the heavy damage output defenses, but also providing mobility and utility purposes for the offense.

2 minutes in, WT gets a steal from Lew as soldier, but he quickly goes down to the defense, having no support. Snowbreak also manages to get a steal, but goes down as well. On WT’s next push, Lew switches off soldier onto heavy, clearing out the defense for the chemist to steal. LeUniCow steals and almost gets out, but dies to the mage. TBF gets Spades_ to roam up to help with their next offensive push, but their flag carrier still goes down to the high damage output. So far both teams are maintaining a solid defense.

The first notable steal comes when EkkoFox steals after Gengar goes down to the defense, and proceeds to go out top. He is nearly half of the way there when Nakatago pearls behind him and stalls him long enough for Jade to come in for a clean assassinate.

As the game continues, LeUniCow switches off chemist to elf, while Lew goes medic and Siwoo goes chemist. However, they fail to tank the damage from the defense. For the next few pushes, LeUniCow goes soldier, while Siwoo goes heavy, two considerably more bulkier classes.

Nothing much happens for the next few minutes, as both teams switch up the classes on offense and try to see which combination works best for them, resulting in a few steals.

4 minutes till the end of the map, Gengar gets a steal as soldier and gets boosted out of the flagroom, taking a lot of damage but surviving. He takes the sponge on the top right and just like that, he is already more than halfway to the first capture of the game. Having lots of support from his teammates, Gengar secures the first capture of the round.

For the rest of the round, TBF and WT maintain their solid defenses, and neither team gets a consecutive capture. As the first map ends, the score is 1 to 0, in favour of TBF.

The second map is WT’s pick, a rather unexpected Metro, where WT has always picked maps such as Dragon Valley or even Blackout. Metro is a heavily defensive map, which would be good for WT as they have many strong pvpers who could definitely turn the tide for the second map.

The defense for both teams remains much the same, while WT’s offense starts out to have a medic, chemist and ninja, but the chemist is quickly changed for a heavy. TBF’s offense is similar, except that they are running a chemist instead of a ninja.

There are some small steals from both sides, but neither team manages to get out of the flagroom.

9 minutes in, Siwoo gets a medic steal, and gets out rather clean as LeUniCow was distracting the defense. As Siwoo nears his flagroom, Gengar manages to get a steal as heavy and also gets out. Siwoo passes the flag to LeUniCow, who is a heavy. Thus begins the stalemate on Metro. LeUniCow stays near to his flagroom, while Gengar is situated near the blue spawn.

As the clock ticks down, neither team manages to get a recover on the flag carriers, and the map ends in a 0-0.

The last map is Airlock I, a map that is rather balanced for both defense and offense, but is rather great for roaming defense, especially ninja, as ninja is able to kill off the support when they are trapped in the tight corridors of the map. For WT, Chaos is subbed out for Derpy_Jazz, a solid heavy and ninja player.

Less than a minute in, LeUniCow steals as soldier and gets out. As he is low, he passes the flag to Nakatago who quickly pearls across the map. Nakatago drops the flag near the outside of spawn, but before LeUniCow can pick it up, Snowbreak manages to recover it just in time.

4 minutes in, EkkoFox gets a steal as medic and goes right. He avoids the assassinate and goes out top, avoiding the ninjas. Before EkkoFox can capture, LeUniCow gets another steal as soldier and he manages to get out. Meanwhile, on the other side, Nakatago and Jade are both there as ninja and assassin respectively for a recovery, and they manage to kill EkkoFox, but die to the support before they can recover. Unlucky. Snowbreak picks up the flag as medic, and then passes it to Gengar to prepare for a potential stalemate. As the TBF recovery goes down, it seems that another stalemate will take place.

Gengar chooses to stand in the flagroom, near the water while LeUniCow opts for a position that is closer to the spawn. With more than 8 minutes to go, Nakatago recovers the flag by intercepting a pass from the medic to the soldier. Snowbreak is right by the flag, so he steals and tries to go out right, but is chased by the assassin and ninja. He goes down to the ninja, and WT gets their first capture for the match.

Gengar gets a steal as soldier but goes down, and Snowbreak also gets a steal as ninja, but pearls into a wall and dies.

With more than 5 minutes left to go, Snowbreak gets a steal as soldier, with simcb as assassin to support him. simcb manages to assassinate a lot of WT’s recovery, and Snowbreak is safe enough to get out. With lots of support from his team, Snowbreak makes it across the map and secures a second capture for TBF.

The round gets even more intense as both teams scramble to try and get a consecutive capture for their team. Some small steals come in, but neither of them results in a capture. With both teams holding their ground, nobody gets another capture for the rest of the map and the round ends, 1-1.

In conclusion, both teams played well during this match, showing good coordination and skill, with TBF coming out only slightly on top. A commendable effort was made by both teams. In the end, the match ends in 1-0, 0-0 and 1-1, resulting in a win for TBF.

The player of the game went to simcb for both his consistency and his amazing play on assassin, as he knew how to roam up to help the flag carrier, ultimately contributing to the second capture for TBF.

1e223501-fb25-4e1f-aec9-0fa4d1731794 Kashyyyk: Thanks. I didn’t really know how it would go or what the results would be... we’ve been really shaky recently and I was hoping we could do something to get us back on track, which we ended up doing from my point of view.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Were there any strategies you guys planned before the match, and if so, what were they? Is there any strength WT had that you were scared of? Any particular people on WT's roster you figured out how to counter?
1e223501-fb25-4e1f-aec9-0fa4d1731794 Kashyyyk: We didn’t really use any new strategies and we just looked at it like a normal match, not really preparing at all. I wouldn’t say we were scared, but we did assume that Water Taste’s defense was going to get a buff from the recent Insurgence takeover and I guess we were perhaps a little worried about how that would be, but we weren’t trying to counter anyone or anything. One thing we did manage to pull off to try to strengthen ourselves was have everyone talking, and it helped a bit I feel.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Which WT member gave you the most trouble? What strength of theirs did you find was hard to counter?
1e223501-fb25-4e1f-aec9-0fa4d1731794 Kashyyyk: From my offensive perspective, the player that gave us the most trouble was probably oliveal. It was a bit difficult to counter their assassin style, even with chemist pots to help in the effort.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: What strengths did you find in your own play? How did this helped you?
1e223501-fb25-4e1f-aec9-0fa4d1731794 Kashyyyk: The only strength I can really think of was coordination with everyone talking. We’re all very very inactive and also we had to fill in the gaps in roster positions which is why nikki was playing pyro and invidus was playing mage. And 915 was not there to carry the team. :disappointed_relieved:
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Afterwards, what are overall thoughts of the match? What are things you need to work on?
1e223501-fb25-4e1f-aec9-0fa4d1731794 Kashyyyk: I think the match went well and now hopefully we’re trending in an upward direction and can build on the win. We definitely need to work on getting cleaner steals and not dying to dumb things like assassin when we do get those steals, which we were doing a lot. Thats pretty much it.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Thanks for the interview and congrats on the win again.
1e223501-fb25-4e1f-aec9-0fa4d1731794 Kashyyyk: Thanks for having me.

[Official] Water Taste vs The Templars

An interesting match to see, considering the last WT vs TT match only happened about a month and a half ago. This time around, Water Taste has a few upgrades to their roster, with new recruits such as Nakatago and Jade_. The Templars are still powerful all around, but they do lack a player such as Snowleak14 or November to give them guidance during the match.

For the beginning of the match, both teams are able to hold solid defenses. WT runs a squishier build focusing on the power behind Jade_ and Proterozoic with headshots and assassinates respectively; along with this they have Nakatago playing ninja and a good pyro in QTJ5511. Roll0fSushi is also present as a flagroom medic. Meanwhile on TT’s side we have Trebr as mage, miiike as soldier, LeDoener as pyro, Haise as archer, and Azol as ninja. Zombwie gets a good steal a few minutes in and runs it on top of xxxxdead. His medic unfortunately goes down while on the ground, so Zombwie opts to pass to Participated while having only 3 health left. Participated continues to run, but must block a potential assassinate from Jade_. He blocks for too long and is pushed off the edge from the combined efforts of Nakatago and Jade_. Spookeos also gets out on the other side, trying to go up the middle, but is stopped too early. Participated decides to play heavy, but consistency from WT’s defense is able to counter it well. Meanwhile, LeUniCow is able to get out and through the middle as chemist. He is stalled by Trebr and Azol, but manages to get support from some WT defenders. LeUniCow unfortunately goes down to damage before Siwoo can get to him as medic, but Spookeos picks it up as ninja and pearls straight to the flagroom. A capture for WT makes the score 1-0. A few minutes later, Spookeos gets a potential steal; he attempts to head up the middle again, but is forced to run to the bars side. He has support from both the medic and chemist, however (Siwoo being the medic). As he climbs up the bars, Nakatago waits invisible and kills Azol, to allow Spookeos to get over the bars much more easily. He runs it to flag with little opposition from spawn to flag and gets a 2nd capture for Water Taste. Trebr switches to assassin, which is able to contain the pressing WT offense a bit better. On the other side, Zombwie gets a steal, trying to go to the top of the middle. He is fully restored by eeyore6, but is also forced to run to the bars side in a similar fashion to Spookeos. With little left in his way as he gets to spawn and healed by eeyore6 once again, he scores a capture for TT. Spookeos gets out again a couple of minutes after, with support from LeUniCow. He goes to the bars again, but Azol and miiike are able to put in enough damage to get a recovery right as he finally makes it over the bars. On the other side, Participated has switched to soldier and gets out through the middle with WT’s flag. Nakatago slowly putting in damage behind him as ninja, he climbs into the fountain to wait for more substantial support, a good play. He is able to run it from spawn to flagroom once the coast is clear, putting a tie on the scoreboard (2-2). Trebr and Azol begin to attempt ninja steals, but QTJ is able to knock them out before they get far. On the other side, with both roaming up off of defense, Spookeos gets out again. He has support from both Siwoo and LeUniCow, who are able to help him over the bars against Azol and miiike. He nearly falls of the edge, but miiike does die. He runs it to flagroom with no disturbances left and gets a 3rd capture for WT. Spookeos gets out a few moments later once again, this time opting to go straight through the middle after a quick fake from climbing near top mid. However, tons of TT players are there to meet him and end up taking him down while his medic is alive. Zombwie steals immediately following these events, and also gets a full heal right away from eeyore6. No headshots come through as he loops around the bar side, gets over and into contact with 2 medics (Participated and eeyore6). LeUniCow will counter steal just in time, but gets webbed by Participated and goes down to damage from Azol and the medic. Zombwie gets another capture for TT, once again bringing the score to a tie. Moments later, another steal from LeUniCow going to the far side with very little opposition. The pyro, soldier, and ninja do end up in front of him, but with help from the rest of his offense, he is able to pull off a solid juke. LeUniCow nears his spawn as Zombwie gets a steal. Zombwie stalls for support, and as his situation looks grim against WT’s recovery, eeyore is finally able to get a timely heal off onto him. He is able to run to his spawn and the first stalemate begins. LeUniCow will pass to Siwoo as medic here, which is a much better upgrade from a chemist holding on Blackout. Eventually, after both teams hold up solid defenses against each other’s recovery, Siwoo transfers the flag over to Spookeos as soldier, which makes things much easier on WT (allowing them to support their carrier less and send more recovery). Nakatago makes an important switch to elf about halfway into the stalemate, allowing him to use pure element on Zombwie and also block headshots onto Spookeos twice. Zombwie gets assaulted by pyro arrows and pure element from QTJ and Nakatago, so he decides to pass to eeyore6 for the time being; this play was good, since eeyore6 is immune to fire as a medic and has more steak. She does pass back to Zombwie after the threats have been eliminated as Spookeos gets headshot. Roll0fSushi is able to pick up though. Sushi does decide to pass over to Spookeos for assurance against TT’s plan to send heavies; she does pass to the assassin accidently, but the error is corrected before TT is able to ninja recov. At last, Proterozoic is able to pull off a well timed headshot and LeUniCow is there to recover the flag. Spookeos runs it over to the flagroom and gets another cap for WT. The map ends 4-3 in favor of Water Taste, moving on to Pagodas (TT’s Pick).

Pagodas starts off with a very similar class composition for both rosters. Spookeos gets out by a decent amount very quickly, but Azol headshots both Siwoo and LeUniCow, allowing the rest of TT defense to contain Spookeos and recover. Siwoo gets out pretty far as medic, going to the ying-yang. Before he gets there, miiike is able to solo recover on him as ninja. Both Zombwie and Participated get decent steals, but both take the middle route and go down to recovery quickly. Both archers are putting in good work against the offenses, with little opposition onto them (Azol is now archer for TT, with Haise becoming a soldier defender). Zombwie gets a better steal going through the middle again, but goes down to Nakatago right before he is able to get to eeyore6. Participated switches to heavy and is able to clear WT flagroom by himself, but Pagodas’s structure doesn’t work in his favor, as the recovery easily gets back to him as a heavy. LeUniCow switches his class to soldier as well, and gets a very nice steal going through the middle, and eventually onto the pink trees. WT lacks a medic for the time being, however, and LeUniCow does go down to a headshot. Spookeos responds with a very significant steal going along the ying-yang side. He does get headshot by Azol, but LeUniCow is able to pick up and only take knockback from Azol’s next arrow instead of a second headshot. Siwoo is there to support him amongst the cluster of TT recovery, and does give him a full heal. Jade_ does roam up and take care of TT’s recovery besides Participated, a big play for WT. LeUniCow does make it to the flagroom relatively untouched besides 1 ninja, and turns the score into 1-0. Participated responds with a good steal and support form eeyore6, but the huge amount of WT recovery is able to push him off of his original routing and knock him around until Jade_ pulls off an assassinate. TT decides to switch Trebr to medic offense, and eeyore6 to defense, perhaps to enhance survivability of the medic (eeyore knows the role better, but Trebr can likely fight the defense better). Participated does get a nice steal with much less recovery than before, going through the middle. He comes into contact with Trebr and makes it all the way to the side of his spawn building. He needs to block, and for quite a long time, as Jade is waiting above him to assassinate. While he is blocking, he gets headshot by a well placed arrow from Proterozoic, as Jade_ finally jumps down and recovers. This was the last good steal of the map, as nobody else can get far. The map ends 1-0 in favor of Water Taste, an overall score of 5-3, and a victory to Water Taste. Good game!

    Aftermatch interview with @oowiS

5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Congrats on the win! What were your predictions of the match's results beforehand?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: Thank you! Since we had three new members playing for us, we weren't sure how the match was going to go. Recently, we've been working on our coordination a bit more, so we were expecting to cap at least on Blackout.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Were there any strategies you guys planned before the match, and if so, what were they? Is there any strength TT had that you were scared of? Any particular people on TT's roster you figured out how to counter?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: With their traditional archer banned, we figured we could gain an advantage if we chose an archer dependent map, such as Blackout. We were concerned about Participated and his capabilities, but our defense managed to hold off their offense.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Before the match, how did you prepare?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: We had our usual one hour practice beforehand, where we practiced our communication on both maps; Pagodas and Blackout. Other than that, we just had a call with our new members to get to know each other.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Which TT member gave you the most trouble? What strength of theirs did you find was hard to counter?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: There wasn't really a singular person that caused more trouble over the other as all their players were effective in different situations. Though, speaking from an offense perspective, I would say Azol was the most problematic. He was consistent in splitting us off, causing our offense to stutter many times.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: What strengths did you find in your own play? How did this helped you?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: Our strengths were in all areas of the match: offense, midfield and roaming defense. The maps we played on were archer dependent, and as previously mentioned, it gave us an advantage. Plus, with our defense roaming as far up to mid, caused their offense to scatter and become uncoordinate
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Afterwards, what are overall thoughts of the match? What are things you need to work on?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: We are happy how the match turned out and were pretty surprised to have done much better than we anticipated. Though we can probably improve our communication on support to fix some misplays we’ve made during the match.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Why do you think most people's predictions for this match were in TT's favor?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: TT is a team that has always been around. With their advantage over many things; experience, coordination and their ability to adapt to certain situations, I would have been surprised if there wasn’t a person who didn’t favor in TT.
5ccf3875-8afe-4a27-a815-dd27811c3190 hamzack: Thanks for the interview and congrats on the win again. Any last thoughts?
4b874072-70ff-4a59-9e4a-0c0e9611b27b oowiS: No problem. Thank you for giving us the opportunity of this interview. We hope to improve ourselves further in future matches. Remember, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey.
